Abstract: A method for automatically preparing seeds with an additive to be deployed together with the seeds. The method includes conveying a plurality of seeds into an opening position, creating an opening in each of the seeds by cutting each seed with a fixed blade or a laser device when each seed is in the opening position, introducing an amount of additive into the seed through the opening and continuously conveying the plurality of seeds while creating the opening and introducing the amount of additive into the seeds.

Abstract: A separating device for forming a standing area for livestock, in particular pigs, and for reducing emissions in pens, in particular in pig pens, comprises a base frame, a drainage element with a plurality of drainage channels which each comprise an outflow end, and shoulders, between which the plurality of drainage channels extends orthogonally to a drainage direction, a liquid-permeable endless belt with an upper run and a lower run, wherein the drainage element is arranged on the base frame such that a drainage direction of the plurality of drainage channels is directed in the direction of the outflow end.

Abstract: A method for naturally culling mussel population on a mussel-culture rope, comprising the steps of installing a predator guard around the mussel-culture rope; and during the step of installing, adjusting a degree of mussel protection of that predator guard. In one aspect, the step of adjusting comprises the steps of opening and adjusting a size of a breach in the predator guard. In another aspect, the predator guard is made of an elongated hemicylindroidal mesh-like element with an open side. The hemicylindroidal element has flaps bordering the open side. The flaps constitute duck-mobility impediments for limiting without completely precluding predation by diving ducks.

Abstract: A hunting and wildlife waterfowl decoy apparatus comprising a tubular member and a cord member, wherein the tubular member and the cord member cooperate in order to create a tensional force and a locking mechanism. A waterfowl decoy tubular apparatus for use in keeping a plurality of waterfowl decoy cords in a substantially tight and taught orientation, thereby holding a plurality of decoys in a secure manner and preventing the decoy cords, and thus the decoys, from entangling during transportation or storage.

Abstract: A low profile brooder is provided, comprising a venturi, a burner base, a burner cap, and a baffle. The burner base and the burner cap reside adjacent to each other, with the burner cap disposed above the burner base and with a distribution chamber between them. A central axis is defined. A venturi resides below the burner base and is in fluid communication with the distribution chamber at the central axis. The venturi defines a fuel flow path between its upstream and downstream ends. The fuel flow path resides at least partially at one or more of an acute angle, a perpendicular angle, and an obtuse angle to the central axis. A baffle resides in the distribution chamber between the central axis and the periphery.

Abstract: A display vase adapted to hold a variety of longitudinal stems or sticks, the vase including a retainer mountable within the transparent vase that can hold a multitude of display items. The retainer may sit on a shelf or retaining ring inside the vase. The retainer may include an array of hexagonally shaped cells that may interlock with a lower level of interlocking cells. Also included is a method of arranging and displaying stemmed items in a vase. A retainer is set in a vase and stems are secured therethrough, preferably into a frog apparatus at bottom of vase.

Abstract: A vase apparatus includes a vase supported by a ground engagement mechanism such that the vase can be displaced from the ground engagement mechanism. The ground engagement mechanism is arranged to enable the vase to be presented substantially vertically. At least one displaceable portion extends from the ground engagement mechanism or the vase. Each displaceable portion includes a plurality of apertures for receiving bunches of flowers or stems of individual flowers or plants.

Abstract: Insect storage and dispensing system are described. An example system may include a dispensing container including at least one wall defining an interior volume for retaining a plurality of adult insects. The system may also include a piston that extends through a first opening of the dispensing container so as to expose a top face of the piston to the interior volume. Longitudinal movement of the piston toward a second opening of the dispensing container may dispense a portion of the plurality of insects from the dispensing container when the plurality of insects is retained in the dispensing container.

Abstract: Embodiments for an improved horse, livestock, and other quadrupeds garment and method of use are disclosed. The EquiVest comprises a one-piece water-resistant vest having an open-oval-neckline with bib-tab design for slipping over the animal's head. Optionally, the garment includes hardware for attaching overlapping side panels. Coupled with the side panel attaching hardware, the bib-tab design provides side tabs with a hook-and-loop mechanism in a secure fit. The vest covers the top-line, both sides, abdominal area, center-front chest, and hind area to allow the horse to have complete ease of movement while maintaining a stable core body temperature.

The inner assembly may include a pump. A bottom plate of the water tank may be formed with a protrusion projecting upward, while the inner assembly may include a support cylinder having a cavity or recess that is inserted onto the protrusion. The support cylinder may include an upper surface and a sidewall to define the cavity or recess. The inner assembly may further include a filter coupled to the support cylinder.

Abstract: A cattle guard assembly includes a cattle guard that is positionable in a depression in a roadway extending along a fence line. In this way the cattle guard inhibits livestock from crossing the fence line in the roadway. The cattle guard is comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby resisting impact damage. Additionally, the cattle guard is comprised of a non-oxidizing material to resist corrosion. The cattle guard comprises a plurality of modular units thereby facilitating the cattle guard to have a selectable width for accommodating a variety of roadway widths. Each of the modular units is comprised of a molded, unitary structure such that said modular units resist breaking. Each of the modular units includes a base and a grate, and the grate is positionable in an existing cattle guard base for replacing an existing grate in an existing cattle guard.

Abstract: A feeding device for working animals comprises a conveyor with a plurality of receiving regions for a feed, where the receiving regions are arranged along the conveyor chain and are accessible from above for the working animals, a feed supply device for supplying feed to the receiving regions, and a guide device for guiding the conveyor along a predetermined path. The guide device guides the conveyor in a first path section of the predetermined path parallel and in a horizontal direction adjacent to a second path section of the predetermined path. The conveyor is guided in the first path section in a first conveying direction which is opposed to a second conveying direction in which the conveyor is guided in the second path section.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for conducting water in a ground surface, comprising a nonwoven layer introduced into the ground (6), which nonwoven layer has at least one conduit strand (4) provided with passage openings (5) for conducting water. In order to create advantageous construction conditions, it is proposed that the nonwoven layer forms a grid (1) made of intersecting arrays of grid strands and comprises a nonwoven web (3) extending along the conduit strand (4), and that at least one array of grid strands formed of nonwoven strips (2) adjoins the nonwoven web (3).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for inducing artificial hibernation of fish that is capable of transporting the fish in a state of being alive for long hours. According to the present invention, a water temperature is gradually decreased from an initial water temperature to the lowest water temperature, the fish are induced to the artificial hibernation, and they are packed in a waterless state. The packing is carried out in an environment where the lowest water temperature is constantly maintained, and a refrigerant is also packed to constantly maintain a temperature in a packing container, while oxygen is continuously supplied to the live fish induced to the artificial hibernation. The fish are individually packed in the Styrofoam box, and even if an atmospheric pressure in the airport is lowered during transport of the fish, there is no danger of causing respiration of the fish to be hard due to a plastic bag damaged.
