  • Patent number: 5954086
Abstract: A valve for the metered delivery of fluids to be supplied to containers and the like, comprising a body and a closing cover inside which there is formed a chamber which is supplied with the fluid to be delivered to the container and provided with an obturator which is integral with the rod of a piston of a cylinder inside the body of the valve and can be operated in both directions for opening/closing of an aperture for communication with the outside of said chamber, there also being provided an outlet; for delivery of the fluid, which is mounted on the valve coaxially with the aperture thereof.

  • Patent number: 5954313
Abstract: Medical intravenous administration connectors according to a first embodiment include a first coupling member having a female luer, a valve member having a substantially rigid stem and a substantially resilient body with a sealing surface, and a second coupling member having a fluid coupling extending from one end and an internal valve member support. The coupling members are structured to couple to each other with the valve member being biased to a closed position. When assembled, the valve stem extends into the female luer, and the valve body biases the sealing surface against an annular ring in the first coupling member thereby blocking fluid communication. Vanes are provided in the second coupling member on which the resilient body of the valve sits, with the vanes acting as a centering mechanism for the valve. The valve is opened for fluid flow through the assembly by coupling a male luer to the female luer of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 5954092
Abstract: There is provided a high frequency pulse generator having inlet ports for receiving a fluid mass flow rate and output ports that produce a pulse flow rate therefrom by being opened and closed by a chopper wheel. The duty cycle of the generator is controlled by the ratio of the aperture sections of the chopper wheel to the closure sections of the wheel. The housing of the pulse generator may be divided into separate sealed chambers for receiving independent fluid mass flow rates in each chamber and providing independent variable phased pulsed output flow rates.

  • Patent number: 5908044
Abstract: An apparatus for injecting sealant into the packing chamber of a valve requiring no venting of pressure within the valve. The apparatus which includes an interior valve is attached to the valve body by drilling and tapping a connection or by friction welding. A high pressure packing gland is attached to the apparatus and a drill bit is passed through the combination to complete an opening into the packing chamber. The drill bit is withdrawn past the interior valve, which is closed and then out of the combination. The packing gland is removed and a sealant injection device attached. The interior valve is opened and sealant injected into the packing chamber. The valve is closed, a completion plug installed into the end of the fitting, and a completion cap with a sealing ring is installed over the entire valve and fitting, thereby forming multiple redundant seals.

  • Patent number: 5901740
Abstract: A tank for holding a liquid for a predetermined and relatively long time in a continuous flow process. The tank includes an inner compartment with an inlet and an outer compartment with an outlet. The outer compartment encloses the inner compartment except its inlet. The liquid enters through the inlet and is forced upwardly in a non-preferential flow, it overflows to the outer compartment and comes out through the outlet. A pump is connected to the outlet and a variable throttle valve is in turn connected to the output of the pump. A level sensor for the liquid is connected to a computerized control unit to monitor the liquid level and to activate the throttle valve to either restrict or increase the flow to adjust the liquid level. Since the flow rate then is brought back to what it was when throttle valve is restricted to its original state, then changing the liquid level in the second compartment is equivalent to changing the holding time.

  • Patent number: 5871031
Abstract: The invention provides a valve for regulating fluid flow. The valve having a collar, a plug and a flapper seal. The collar defining an aperture and having a base with an opening therein, with a shaft extending from the base within the aperture. The plug being movably and sealably mounted to the collar within the aperture and defining a passage for fluid flow through the valve. The passage being in fluid communication with the opening in the base of the collar. The plug co-operating with the shaft to retain the plug in the collar. The flapper seal is movably and sealably mounted to the shaft within the passage in the plug. The plug is movable between three positions, wherein the valve can be completely sealed, act as a one-way valve, or act as a two-way valve.
