  • Patent number: 11467313
Abstract: A system and method for identifying a foreign object in a stack of media items is disclosed. An upper clamping plate and an opposing lower clamping plate are positioned to hold a received stack of media items. Each clamping plate has an array of capacitive electrodes positioned on an inner surface thereof. Each of the capacitive electrodes in the one array positioned directly across from a corresponding one in the first array to form a capacitive electrode pair. A controller measures the capacitance of each capacitive electrode pair when the received stack of media items is positioned between the clamping plates, determine if a foreign object is present within the received stack of media items based on the capacitance measurements from each capacitive electrode pair, and generate a signal indicating that a foreign object has been detected when a foreign object is determined to be present.

  • Patent number: 11464221
Abstract: An animal trap system includes a glue board, an animal trap accelerometer sensor, and a signal unit in close proximity to and in communications with the animal trap accelerometer sensor, wherein the signal unit also contains an accelerometer sensor. The animal trap system is capable of detecting capture events, non-capture events, false positives, and/or the type of animal captured by using differential signal analysis and machine learning techniques. When an acceleration is received by the animal trap accelerometer sensor above a pre-set acceleration threshold value, it sends a capture signal to the signal unit and if the signal unit does not receive such acceleration event, the signal unit transmits a capture signal to an off-site receiver. A method of trapping one or more animals using this system is also provided.

  • Patent number: 11467291
Abstract: A method for estimating the pressure measurement bias of a barometric sensor in a wireless terminal. A location engine using the method generates an enhanced estimate of the measurement bias. The location engine generates the enhanced estimate based in part on relatively coarse estimates of the elevation of the wireless terminal. The coarse estimates are used to generate instantaneous estimates of measurement bias and bias uncertainty. As needed, the location engine adjusts the instantaneous estimate of bias uncertainty, in order to reflect an instantaneous estimate of measurement bias that is recognized as being in error. The adjustment is based on what is expected as a probable measurement bias value for the particular wireless terminal. Once the location engine generates the enhanced estimate of measurement bias, it can generate improved estimates of elevation of the wireless terminal.

  • Patent number: 11397131
Abstract: A bearing defect auto-detection system includes a processor to receive condition monitoring data that includes vibration harmonics corresponding to a bearing coupled to a rotatable shaft. The processor performs a pattern sweeping process that sweeps a pattern through both a speed range and a bearing class defect frequency range. In response to the test pattern having at test pattern sideband, the processor also sweeps the test pattern sideband through a sideband range, against the condition monitoring data to determine the pattern's fundamental frequency and sideband frequency. The processor determines a most probably bearing defect type associated with the bearing based on the best match value amongst results associated with the test pattern. The processor also performs a post-sweep logic process that compares a number (N) of most recent results from the pattern sweeping process to at least one conditional test to confirm the most probably bearing defect type is present.
