  • Patent number: 9922476
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for managing physical access to an access-controlled area using a local access control system. In certain embodiments, information that may be used in access control determinations managed by a remote domain controller may be communicated to a local access control system for use in connection with local access control determinations performed by the access control system independent of the domain controller. In some embodiments, such a configuration may allow for access control determinations to be performed when communication with the domain controller is interrupted and/or otherwise limited.

  • Patent number: 9870792
Abstract: Various embodiments concern a suspension assembly of a disk drive. The suspension assembly includes a load beam comprising a major planar area formed from a substrate. The load beam further comprises a window in the substrate, a dimple formed from the substrate, and a flange. The flange is a region of the major planar area that extends partially around the dimple but does not extend along an edge of the dimple. The edge of the dimple is adjacent to the window. The dimple is in contact with the flexure. A HAMR block or other element can extend through the window. The lack of a full flange can minimize the necessary clearance between the dimple and the HAMR block or other element and thereby allow the window to be enlarged to accommodate the HAMR block or other element.

  • Patent number: 9858739
Abstract: In some implementations, a system can trigger an action to be performed at a property based on satisfaction of criteria related to location information and a connection status of a mobile computing device. Location information of the mobile computing device relative of a pre-defined geographic region including at least a portion of the property is initially obtained. A connection status of the mobile computing device for a short range wireless connection with a communication-enabled device within the property is then obtained. Criteria for an action at the property is then determined to be satisfied by the location information and the connection status of the mobile computing device. The action is finally triggered to be performed at the property in response to determining that criteria for the action is satisfied.
