  • Patent number: 11763614
Abstract: Examples associated with receptacle isolation are described. One example service kiosk includes a set of receptacles for electronic devices. Each receptacle includes a power connector to provide power to an electronic device stored in the receptacle, a data connector to provide a data connection to the electronic device stored in the receptacle, and a locking mechanism to secure contents of the receptacle. Members of the set of receptacles are digitally isolated from other members of the set of receptacles. An authentication module authenticates a user based on a credential provided by the user, and controls a selected locking mechanism of a selected member of the set of receptacles based on the credential, and based on data received from a remote information technology module. A user interface module instructs the user through the process of at least one of storing a received electronic device in the receptacle, and retrieving a provided electronic device from the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 11749036
Abstract: At least one vehicle and at least one key element, each associated with a corresponding vehicle, are configured to exchange data with one another via a system that determines the vehicle position and the position of the key element. The system places the vehicle in a driving operating mode when the vehicle position and the key element position are essentially the same, in particular when the key element is located inside the vehicle. At least one vehicle function that can be activated when the vehicle is stationary is automatically switched on depending on a current key element position. This may occur when a key element position is changing relative to the vehicle position, but the vehicle and the associated key element are remote from one another, such as separated by at least ten meters.

  • Patent number: 11727735
Abstract: In some implementations, a system can trigger an action to be performed at a property based on satisfaction of criteria related to location information and a connection status of a mobile computing device. Location information of the mobile computing device relative of a pre-defined geographic region including at least a portion of the property is initially obtained. A connection status of the mobile computing device for a short range wireless connection with a communication-enabled device within the property is then obtained. Criteria for an action at the property is then determined to be satisfied by the location information and the connection status of the mobile computing device. The action is finally triggered to be performed at the property in response to determining that criteria for the action is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11721144
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for eliminating false activation of components of a vehicle when the vehicle is parked in a garage. Example components can be a door lock, a door latch, a door activation servomotor, or a light. In an example method, a vehicle entry authorization system of a vehicle operates a sensor system to obtain dimensional information of an interior portion of the garage. The vehicle entry authorization system may then detect a presence of a mobile device (such as a phone-as-a-key or a vehicle key fob) and determines the location of the mobile device based on the dimensional information. If the mobile device is located outside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system refrains from activating a component of the vehicle. However, if the mobile device is located inside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system activates the component.

  • Patent number: 11699313
Abstract: A smart key storage case includes a storage case main body that can shield a signal, a transmission path through which a call signal from an in-vehicle device is radiated into the storage case main body, a switch that conducts/cuts off the transmission path, a radio communication unit that performs data communication with a radio communication terminal, a controller that controls the switch, and a response signal relay section that radiates a response signal from the smart key inside the storage case main body to the outside. When the radio communication terminal is present outside the vehicle, the controller controls the switch so that the call signal transmitted from the in-vehicle device to the inside of the cabin is cut off and the call signal transmitted to the outside of the vehicle is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11694716
Abstract: A PZT microactuator such as for a hard disk drive has a restraining layer bonded on its side that is opposite the side on which the PZT is mounted. The restraining layer comprises a stiff and resilient material such as stainless steel. The restraining layer can cover most or all of the top of the PZT, with an electrical connection being made to the PZT where it is not covered by the restraining layer. The restraining layer reduces bending of the PZT as mounted and hence increases effective stroke length, or reverses the sign of the bending which increases the effective stroke length of the PZT even further. The restraining layer can be one or more active layers of PZT material that act in the opposite direction as the main PZT layer. The restraining layer(s) may be thinner than the main PZT layer.

In an example, an access control system is designed to be used in conjunction with a first recognition system, such as facial recognition system, a gait recognition system, or audio recognition system, that uses a confidence level to determine whether individuals are authorized to access a restricted area. When the first recognition system is unable to confidently identify the individual, a second recognition system, such as a mobile device system or access card system, may be used to provide second factor verification. Further, stored recognition data may be updated to include information gathered by the first recognition system in response to use of the second factor verification.
