  • Patent number: 4943182
Abstract: The rapid fastener is adapted to achieve a connection in the axial direction and in rotation of two elements and more particularly torque-transmitting shafts. It comprises at the end of one of the elements a socket (8) which is provided with at least one helical slot (14, 16) and on which is axially slidable a ring (18) defining at least one longitudinal slot which is laterally offset relative to the entrance (14) of the helical slot. The ring (18) is biased by a spring (24) toward the entrance of the socket (8). The second element has a stem (4) provided with a driving pin (6) which, in entering the helical slot, urges back the ring but is guided under the action of the spring (24) and the edges of the two slots toward the inner end of the helical slot and is then locked in this position without clearance.

  • Patent number: 4940263
Abstract: A fitting made up of a body, a ferrule and a nut. The ferrule has a reduced size cylindrical member that is received in an end of a thin wall tube. The nut and the deformable ferrule are placed over the tube. The nut is wrenched onto the body, which deforms the ferrule at the ferrule groove displacing material of the ferrule inwardly against the tube, bringing the inner surface of the ferrule into sealing engagement with the outer surface of the tube and the inner surface of the tube with the outer reduced cylindrical surface of the body and at both faces of the ferrule. A seal is thus accomplished at the inside surface of the ferrule, forcing the tube into engagement with the reduced size member of the body, thereby reinforcing the tube.

Abstract: The invention refers to a structural part comprising a flange (6) and at least one exhaust gas tube (1) being inserted into a perforation (5) of the flange (6) and being connected therewith by a welding seam (11) arranged on the free end (2) of the exhaust gas tube (1), in particular to an exhaust gas bend for internal combustion engines. The end (4) of the exhaust gas tube (1) is reduced in diameter and tapers in opposite direction to the flow direction (8) of the exhaust gases. The wall (7) of the perforation (5) tapers with the same tapering angle (.alpha.) as does the end (4) of the exhaust gas tube (1). The tapering end (4) of the exhaust gas tube (1) snugly engages the wall (9) of the perforation (5) over at least part of the thickness (13) of the flange (6). The tapering end (4) of the exhaust gas tube (1) is seated within the tapering area (9) of the perforation (5) of the flange by press fit.

  • Patent number: 4930933
Abstract: An attaching socket of a working implement fits a tool shaft and has an exterior clamping device with a clamping piece, which with the clamping device in a closed condition engages in the tool shaft through an opening in a wall of the attaching socket. The clamping piece is mounted on a clamping lever which is mounted pivotable exteriorly on the attaching socket about a pivot axis extending substantially perpendicular to the sleeve axis and extends from that pivot axis substantially further than the length of the clamping piece. This clamping piece together with the clamping lever form a bent lever. The clamping lever is pivoted in against the tool shaft in the closed condition of the clamping device, while it is swung out in the open condition far enough from it so that the clamping piece is out of engagement with the tool shaft. With the clamping device closed the end of the tool shaft is braced by the clamping piece axially against a backstop formed by and in the attaching socket.

  • Patent number: 4927287
Abstract: A fastener includes a female body and male body. By forcibly inserting the male body into a male body insertion hole of the female body, the two bodies are temporarily coupled together. By further inserting the male body into the female body from this state, leg portions of the female body are caused to flare outwardly so that overlapped plates are fastened together between the flared leg portions and a head portion of the female body. By further inserting the male body into the female body from this state, the leg portions are released from the flared state, so that the plates can be unfastened. When and only when the leg portions are inserted through a hole of a plate to be fastened by means of the fastener disposed in the temporarily coupled state, can the male body be further inserted within the female body so as to fasten the two plates to each other.
