Abstract: Method and apparatus for previewing new events in a computing device having a plurality of applications for managing respective events are described. Individual applications are each represented by an application icon on a screen of a graphical user interface for the device. In response to a new event of a one of the applications, the application's icon is visually modified to notify of the new event. A visual modification may be determined in response to the new event, for example, to preview a content of the event. The visual modification may include a count of all new events that remain to be disposed. On a selection of the visually modified icon, additional previewing may be provided. Activation of the application having a visually modified application icon may be configured to automatically initiate the application at the new event.

Abstract: A display displays an equipment management screen in which icons indicating equipment devices and having a first display size are superimposed on a floor configuration diagram of a building at positions corresponding to installation sites of the equipment devices. A display information generator, upon detection of an operation of specifying display of a group to which the equipment device corresponding to the operated icon belongs, identifies all equipment devices belonging to the specified group, changes display sizes of icons corresponding to the identified equipment devices to a second display size larger than the first display size, displays operation buttons for implementing settings of the identified equipment devices at prescribed positions on the equipment management screen in a superimposed manner, and changes display sizes of icons corresponding to equipment devices not belonging to the specified group to a third display size smaller than the first display size.

For example, the disclosed systems can utilize a multi-task summarization neural network to analyze an operation description and generate a coachmark and a concise instruction corresponding to the operation description. In addition, the disclosed systems can provide a coachmark and a concise instruction for display within a user interface to, directly within a client application, guide a user to perform an operation by interacting with a particular user interface element.

An information object display area includes a plurality of information objects displayed on a track. The track extends along a path created between an outer and inner elliptical border in the interface. A plurality of elliptical frames are generated along the track, each in contact with the outer and inner elliptical borders, and first and second neighboring elliptical frames adjacent to it. Information objects are displayed based on the elliptical frames. In response to receiving user input associated with movement of a pointer, the center of the inner elliptical border is moved in the direction of pointer movement while resizing the inner border so that it remains within the outer border. The elliptical frames are resized and moved along the track so that all the elliptical frames remain in contact with the borders and their neighboring elliptical frames.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for applying and synchronizing filter information with a multimedia presentation, such as a movie provided in a video-on-demand context, to suppress objectionable content. In one example, filter information, which includes an indicia of a portion of the multimedia presentation including objectionable content and a type of suppression action, is provided on either a set-top-box or a video-on-demand server. A user selects a particular video-on-demand presentation, and the selection is transmitted to the set-top-box. Filtering may take place at the set-top-box side such that the complete video-on-demand movie is transmitted to the set-top box and then content suppression, such as skipping, muting, cropping, and blurring, takes place at the set-top-box. Alternatively, some or all suppression may take place at the server such that some or all of the objectionable content is not transmitted to the set-top-box.

Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure provides for customizing electronic page display based on user interactions. In an embodiment, a web page is displayed in response to a first request. The selection points on the web page are received, and new values are computed for the parameters defining the display characteristics of some of the interactive elements based on the selection points received on the displayed web page. The web page is thereafter sent for display based on the new value for such interactive elements. In one embodiment, the new value corresponds to a width or height parameter, and the size of a first element is increased upon mis-selections found associated with the first element. In another embodiment, the new value corresponds to an inter-element distance between a pair of elements, when mis-selections are found associated with one of the pair of elements.
