Patent number: 9506854Abstract: Light irradiates one light incident position on the surface of a scattering-absorption body. The light that propagates through the interior of the scattering-absorption body is detected at one light detecting position on the surface of the scattering-absorption body. On the basis of a light detection signal, a temporal profile of the light intensity of the detected light is acquired, and on the basis of the temporal profile, an mean optical path length of the light in the interior of the scattering-absorption body and information relating to the amount of substance to be measured in a region to be measured are calculated. The information relating to the amount of substance to be measured is corrected on the basis of the mean optical path length, such that the longer the mean optical path length, the greater the amount of substance to be measured is.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2011Date of Patent: November 29, 2016Assignee: HAMAMATSU PHOTONICS K.K.Inventors: Etsuko Yamaki, Yutaka Yamashita, Motoki Oda, Hiroaki Suzuki, Toshihiko Suzuki, Hiroshi Watanabe, Shunsaku Koga

Patent number: 9498290Abstract: A trajectory frame for use with surgical navigation systems includes a base having a patient access aperture formed therein. A yoke is mounted to the base and is rotatable about a roll axis. A platform is mounted to the yoke and is rotatable about a pitch axis. An elongated guide is secured to the platform and includes opposite proximal and distal end portions and a bore that extends from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The guide is configured to removably receive various devices therein for quick release therefrom, including an optical tracking probe (which may be a universal tracker) detectable by a camera-based tracking system or an EM probe detectable by an EM navigation system, a microelectrode probe driver adapter, a drill guide and drill bit, skull fixation device and driver, and a catheter guide.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2014Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Assignee: MRI Interventions, Inc.Inventors: Peter Piferi, Rajesh Pandey, Maxwell Jerad Daly, Kimble L. Patent number: 9439626Abstract: An attachment for an ultrasonic probe is adapted to be mounted onto an ultrasonic probe body of the ultrasonic probe. The attachment for an ultrasonic probe includes a cover member and a protective member. The cover member is configured and arranged to cover an ultrasonic wave emission surface of a head section of the ultrasonic probe body when the attachment is mounted onto the ultrasonic probe body. The protective member is provided to a surface of the cover member facing the ultrasonic wave emission surface, and configured and arranged to be in contact with the ultrasonic wave emission surface when the attachment is mounted onto the ultrasonic probe body.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2013Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Daisuke Nakanishi

Patent number: 9433375Abstract: In imaging an oxygen saturation level of blood, measurement light having a wavelength of 450 to 500 nm, B light, G light, and an R light are sequentially taken out of broad band light BB emitted from a xenon lamp. An internal body portion is imaged under irradiation with the measurement, B, G, and R light to obtain image data B1, B2, G2, and R2, respectively. A correlation memory stores first and second correlations, each being a correlation among the oxygen saturation level and intensity ratios between the image data B1 and G2 and between the image data R2 and G2. When a cumulative lighting time of the xenon lamp is less than a certain value, the oxygen saturation level is calculated using the first correlation. When the cumulative lighting time equals or exceeds the certain value, the oxygen saturation level is calculated using the second correlation.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2013Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: FUJIFILM CorporationInventor: Takaaki Saito

Patent number: 9375187Abstract: A patient table mounts to a patient imaging apparatus support base. When attached to first and second support ends of an imaging apparatus, the patient table has a generally planar patient support adapted for spanning the imaging apparatus field of view (FOV), and is analogous to a beam spanning the FOV. The beam-like patient support has sufficient rigidity for supporting and imaging a patient placed thereupon without any additional external support columns affixed to the imaging room floor, as was utilized in previously existing imaging apparatus. Elimination of external patient table supports reduces imaging apparatus installation complexity and costs, frees up floor space, and facilitates easier patient transfer to the imaging apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2012Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.Inventor: Bradley Etters
