Abstract: Disclosed is an antiviral agent comprising as an active component a substance SF-2140 described in detail in the specification, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Also disclosed is a method for treatment of viral diseases comprising administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of the substance SF-2140.
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved process for the manufacture of diethylaminoethyl dextran (DEAE dextran) and the diethylaminoethyl derivative of hydrogenated dextran (DEAE hydrodextran). A product of greater purity and improved color is obtained by the addition of a borohydride, such as sodium borohydride during manufacture to generate hydrogen in situ during the reaction.
Abstract: Novel compound having the formula and salts thereof: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is NHCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 SO.sub.3 H or OH and R.sub.2 is SO.sub.3 H or H, which potentiate the antibacterial activity of .beta.-lactam antibiotics and can be used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacteria in mammals or domestic fowls, etc.
Abstract: N.sup.6 -(1 and 2-Benzocycloalkyl)adenosines and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having highly desirable central nervous system and cardiovascular properties, process for their manufacture, pharmaceutical compositions and methods for using said compounds and compositions are described.
