  • Patent number: 6386925
Abstract: A press-contact joint connector includes: a first connector housing having a plurality of cavity walls formed with a plurality of terminal housing chambers; and a terminal assembly having a plurality of terminals to be housed respectively in said plurality of terminal housing chambers, and having a plurality of carrier portions for connecting said plurality of terminals. In the above construction, notched portions are formed respectively in positions of said cavity walls corresponding to said carrier portions. Carrier cutting holes are formed below said notched portions. The carrier portions are composed of lower surface portions, stand portions and upper surface portions for connecting said adjacent stand portions. Overlap portions which are arranged so as to overlap said cavity walls are formed in positions correspondingly to said stand portions of said carrier portions.

  • Patent number: 6315590
Abstract: A connector assembly is mounted through an aperture in a panel, the aperture defining an axis. A first connecting device is mountable in the aperture in the panel. A second connecting device is insertable axially into the first connecting device. One of the connecting devices includes two portions relatively movable axially, with one portion being mateable with the other connecting device. A first latch is provided between the two portions of the one connecting device to prevent relative axial movement therebetween. A second latch is provided between the other connecting device and the one portion of the one connecting device when the other connecting device is mated therewith. A release is provided on the other connecting device for releasing the first latch between the two portions of the one connecting device to allow the mated other connecting device to float relative to the panel.

  • Patent number: 6257897
Abstract: A wiring harness device for instrument panels consists of an electrical component unit having a first connector; an instrument panel having a mount portion for the component unit, which mount opening is provided with a connector insertion opening; an air duct which has wires laid thereon and which is assembled to the instrument panel; and a support means which extends in a cantilever manner from the air duct and supports a second connector thereon. The wires extend on the support means to the second connector. The second connector is movable relative to the air duct and easily mountable in the connector insertion opening for mating with the first connector. The positional deviation of the second connector relative to the connector insertion opening is remedied.
