Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and machine-readable media for investigating an insurance claim. A system may be configured to perform operations including establishing a video conferencing session with a mobile device associated with an insurance product and providing a user interface configured to provide a claims adjuster with remote control of a set of functions on the mobile device associated with the insurance product during the video conferencing session. The operations further include receiving, via the user interface, instructions for requesting the mobile device to perform at least one function in the set of functions on the mobile device and transmitting, to the mobile device, a request to perform the at least one function on the mobile device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and storage media for payment collection are disclosed. An example method comprises: obtaining, at a code scanner, payment account information comprised in a payment code of a purchasing user by scanning the payment code; sending, at the code scanner, the payment account information to a processor; determining, at the processor, a payment amount due, to construct a payment request comprising the payment amount due, the payment account information, and the device identifier; sending, at the processor, the payment request to a communication module; and sending, at the communication module, the payment request to the target server for the target server to, according to the payment request, deduct the payment amount due from a payment account of the purchasing user corresponding to the payment account information, and add the payment amount due to the payment receiving account corresponding to the device identifier.

Abstract: Financial instruments are produced at a remote location by a 3D printer. In one embodiment, a request is made for a financial instrument, such as a prepaid gift instrument, by user system(s) at the remote location(s). The user system(s) may be at one or more of a retailer location, a money transfer agent location, or an instrument holder or recipient location (such as at an instrument holder/recipient's residence). An instrument issuer may transmit a print file to a user system which may in turn provide the print file to the 3D printer in order to produce the instrument. At least of a portion of the print file may be rendered unusable at the user system after being provided to or used by the 3D printer, in order to prevent use of the print file to produce unauthorized copies of the instrument.

Abstract: Methods and systems for facilitating photo-based estimation are described. In an aspect, a server is configured to send via a communications module to a remote computing device a first signal comprising a chat interface. The server may receive, via the communications module and from the remote computing device, a second signal representing input received at the remote computing device through the chat interface. The server may identify an account associated with the remote computing device and retrieve policy data associated with the identified account from the data store. The server may automatically evaluate the input and policy data against predetermined criteria to determine whether a claim has a low risk level and, when the claim is determined to have a low risk level, engage a photo-based estimation module.

Abstract: Methods and systems for determining fault for an accident involving a vehicle having one or more autonomous and/or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, performance data indicative of the performance of the features may be used to determine fault for a vehicle accident, such as a collision, by allocating fault for the accident between a vehicle operator, the autonomous operation features, or a third party. The allocation of fault may be used to determine an adjustment to an insurance policy and/or adjust coverage levels for an insurance policy. The allocation of fault may further be used to adjust risk levels or profiles associated with the autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features, which may be applied to other vehicles having the same or similar features.

Abstract: The method and system involves instant loan decisions by generating a risk profile of a small business (SMB). The risk profile is generated based on accounting data and other third party business management application (BMA) data of the SMB. In particular, the accounting data and other third party BMA data are retrieved from a BMA (e.g., accounting application, payroll application, tax preparation application, personnel application, etc.) as a software-as-an-service (SaaS) used by the SMB. Specifically, the risk profile represents the likelihood of the SMB to be delinquent and/or to default on a loan. The risk profile is then provided to a lender for making an expedient lending decision with respect to the SMB. In addition, statistics of lenders' lending decisions based on provided risk profiles are analyzed to generate a correlation. Accordingly, the algorithm(s) used to generate the risk profile from the accounting data and other third party BMA data are adjusted to maximize the correlation.

Abstract: A method for modeling risk of a derogatory financial event. The method includes generating a risk profile of a small business (SMB) using a risk model based on accounting data and other third party business management application (BMA) data of the SMB. In particular, the risk model is generated using a training data set that includes accounting data and other third party BMA data of multiple SMBs over particular time periods related to historic derogatory events (e.g., to be delinquent and/or to default on a loan) of these SMBs. Generated using the risk model, the risk profile of the SMB represents the likelihood of a derogatory financial event occurring to the SMB.

Abstract: As opposed to using one type of technology from the beginning of a transaction to the end of a transaction at the point of sale, embodiments of the present invention are related to useful techniques for conducting mixed mode transactions. A mixed mode transaction combines at least two modes of communication used in transaction processing. A transaction may start by initiating the transaction using a first communication mode between a first device and a second device. The first device may be a consumer's mobile device, and the device may be a merchant access device or point of sale terminal. To continue the transaction, a second mode of communication may be initiated. The first and second communications modes may be a physical interaction-based mode, a contact or contactless chip mode, a Bluetooth mode, a WiFi mode, an infrared (IR) mode, or any other suitable communication mode.

Abstract: A method for generating a business health score of a business entity that includes identifying tools used to manage the business entity, obtaining business information from the tools, filtering the business information into at least one data category to obtain categorized business information, populating the categorized business information into a data silo, and analyzing, by a computer processor, the categorized business information in the data silo to create a composite business factor. The method also includes applying an algorithm to the composite business factor to generate a result, generating, based on the result, the business health score of the business entity, and providing the business health score to an interested entity.

Abstract: Methods and systems for accessing customer account information involve, for example, binding a computing device with a customer's profile via one or more attributes of the computing device and an encrypted token stored on the computing device and thereafter receiving an authentication request consisting at least in part of the computing device attributes and the encrypted token stored on the computing device. A determination is made as to whether or not entry of a customer credential was received within a pre-determined preceding interval of time, and predefined customer account information is displayed on the computing device without requiring entry of the customer credential when a determination is made that entry of the customer credential was received within the pre-determined preceding interval of time.

Abstract: Using remote image acquisition, image processing, and computational systems and methods, it has become possible to obtain actual building dimensions that can be used to generate construction estimates for repairing or maintaining buildings. For example, actual roof dimensions can be used to provide a computer-based estimate of materials and/or materials overage needed. Instead of simply applying a generic overage percentage based on roof shape, a computer-based approach can take into account cut lines as a percentage of total roof area. The resulting computer-generated estimate is shown to be more accurate, less expensive, and faster than using a human on-site estimator.

Abstract: A device receives a command to identify an automation evaluation for a role, determines tasks of the role based on data relating to the role, and determines activities for the tasks based on the data relating to the role. The device determines one or more automation scores, which correspond to a suitability for automation of the activities, based on a set of characteristics of the activities and based on the data relating to the role. The automation scores are determined using a machine learning model to parse natural language descriptions of the activities and score parsed portions of the natural language descriptions. The device generates, for the role, an aggregate automation score based on the automation scores, determines the automation evaluation for the role based on the aggregate automation score and characteristics of an entity associated with the role, and performs an action relating to the automation evaluation.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for analyzing and fulfilling file requests within an organization, the file requests including multiple data items. The system and method includes storing delivered data items in at least one computer memory and executing instructions using at least one computer processor to perform multiple steps. The file request may be received over a network from a system user and analyzed to identify data items corresponding to the delivered data items. The request may then be cleansed by creating a delta list removing the data items corresponding to the delivered data items. The cleansed request may be transmitted for fulfillment to a fulfillment source. When a file corresponding to the fulfilled request is received, a response file combining the file corresponding to the received request with the data items corresponding to the delivered data items is created.

Using an electronic management system, authentication and authorization of dealers can be provided in a controlled manner that complies with predetermined rules. The predetermined rules can implement business or governmental restrictions on dealers, gaming apparatus or gaming. Gaming devices that are operated by dealers can also be controlled by an electronic management system. Through such electronic control, gaming apparatus can be controlled to be placed in a locked or unlocked condition. The electronic control system can also provide or facilitate monitoring of dealer status and actions and/or gaming apparatus status and events. Further, the electronic control system can provide notification, such as alerts, to dealers, managers and/or players.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for an interface for expanding logical combinations based on relative placement are provided. Logical combinations are built using a consistent logical layout specifying logical operators and order of operations based on direction of expansion and relative positions. The interface allows the user to add or move objects at specific positions relative to existing objects to select the logical operators for integrating the objects into the logical combination. Based on the specific pathway that the direction follows, an associated logical operator is selected to connect an existing object to the new or moved object. The logical combinations that are built in Visual Information Builder (VIB) can be automatically translated into corresponding business rule code for evaluation and execution by a rules engine.
