  • Patent number: 8805417
Abstract: A dynamic contact list for a mobile device presents address book contacts in varying arrangements based on external factors. The mobile device may receive a request to display a contact list and may retrieve a sort procedure for the contact list. The sort procedure may be based on a user's prior selections from a group of contact sort rules. The mobile device may retrieve a list of contact identifiers and other information associated with each contact identifier that is applicable to the sort procedure. The mobile device may then apply the sort procedure to the list of contact identifiers and to the information associated with each contact identifier so as to displaying a sorted list of contact identifiers based on the applied sort procedure.

  • Patent number: 8791882
Abstract: A display device of active matrix type allows reducing display brightness non-uniformity that is caused by initial variation and fluctuation over time in a driving transistor for emissive elements in pixel circuits. The display device includes pixel circuits, a measurement circuit and a gradation voltage supplying circuit. Each pixel circuit includes the driving transistor and an input circuit. The measurement circuit includes a constant current supplying circuit for generating and supplying one or more constant currents to the input circuit of the pixel circuits in a time division manner. The measurement circuit A/D-converts output voltages of the constant current supplying circuit and calculates data relating to electron mobility and threshold value of the driving transistor. The gradation voltage supplying circuit supplies to the pixel circuits a corrected gradation voltage, which is data corrected on the basis of data calculated from the measurement circuit.

  • Patent number: 8674960
Abstract: A detector circuit and detect method of a capacitive touch panel conditionally abort sensing of useless traces of the capacitive touch panel when the capacitive touch panel senses the traces thereof. For a selected trace, the trace voltage thereof is sampled to be compared with a threshold voltage. If the sampled voltage is lower than the threshold voltage, the sensing of this trace is aborted and thus the operation of the detector circuit is reduced to improve the performance of the capacitive touch panel.

  • Patent number: 8620255
Abstract: Techniques for routing an emergency call originated by a mobile station via a femto access point (FAP) in a wireless network and for locating the mobile station are described. In an aspect, the emergency call may be routed to an appropriate emergency center based on location information for the FAP. In one design, the location information for the FAP may include a macro cell identity (ID) and/or a macro Mobile Switching Center (MSC) ID determined based on the FAP location. The macro cell ID and/or the macro MSC ID may be assigned to the FAP and used to access a database, which may store routing information for emergency centers versus cell IDs and MSC IDs. In another design, the location information for the FAP may include a location estimate for the FAP. The location estimate may be used to access a geographic database, which may store routing information for emergency centers for different geographic areas.

  • Patent number: 8615257
Abstract: With the addition of directional information and gesture based input in a location based services environment, a variety of service(s) can be provided on top of user identification or interaction with specific object(s) of interest. For instance, a device can interact with various endpoints of a direction-based location service and any of the content or other information exchanged between clients and services can be synchronized for efficient exchange of information and efficient utilization of network bandwidth and resources. For example, change input is received by a device that alters, deletes or augments dynamically updateable information associated with a point of interest and the changes resulting from the change input are synchronized from the mobile device to a location based network service. Optionally, the synchronization can be according to a knowledge exchange to identify what should be synchronized prior to transmitting the updates.

  • Patent number: 8526924
Abstract: Many mobile devices can access websites on the Internet. A mobile device running a web server application can host websites and provide services. For a first mobile device to access services on a second mobile device, the first mobile device needs the IP address of the second mobile device. The first mobile device sends a connection request to the second mobile device. The first mobile device receives, from the second mobile device, the network address of the second mobile device, identification of services that are available on the second mobile device, and a security token. The first mobile device selects a service and sends an HTTP or HTTPS request for the service to the network address of the second mobile device, and also sends the security token. The second mobile device authenticates the request based on the token and allows the first mobile device to access the selected service.
