    Abstract: An algorithm for the promotion of terminal nodes to switch nodes in a PLC network reduces overall network overhead and collisions, while ensuring the appropriate selection of a switch node and minimizing the number of levels in a PLC network. It also ensures that the terminal nodes with appropriate signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) are promoted. It is desirable to have a network with fewer levels. The disclosed approach favors the nodes that are closer to the DC to promote them as switch nodes. This is achieved by waiting for a smaller number of PNPDUs for a node that is closer to the DC in comparison to a node that is farther away from the DC.

    Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a process of dynamically assigning operational parameters for access points within a CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) network. In particular, the disclosed technology monitors for and detects interference between nearby access points and user equipment devices that may belong to the same enterprise or to different enterprises. Machine learning processes are used to revise the operational parameters that were initially assigned by the Spectrum Access System (SAS). These processes are also used to suggest an updated set of operational parameters to the SAS for the access points. The dynamic assignment reduces interference experienced by the access point with respect to nearby other access points and/or nearby other user equipment. The dynamic assignment aims to improve a quality of communication between the access point and its associated user equipment.

Codewords are associated with cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs) for detecting errors, and a subsequent packet is received that includes data that can be used to correct the error. For example, each packet can be encoded for both error detection and correction, and the retransmission mechanism can be adapted to the error rate. The retransmission scheme is improved by utilizing an LLR combining scheme, transmit diversity, and modified ACK methods.
