  • Patent number: 9883486
Abstract: Embodiments for bandwidth allocation methods, detecting interference with other systems, and/or redeploying in alternate bandwidth are described. Higher bandwidth channels may be deployed at channel boundaries (410), which are a subset of those for lower bandwidth channels (310), and may be restricted from overlapping. Interference may be detected (930) on primary, secondary, or a combination of channels, and may be detected in response to energy measurements (910) of the various channels. When interference is detected, a higher bandwidth Basic Service Set (BSS)(100) may be relocated to an alternate channel, or may have its bandwidth reduced to avoid interference. Interference may be detected based on energy measured on the primary or secondary channel, and/or a difference between the two. An FFT (1010) may be used in energy measurement in either or both of the primary and secondary channels. Stations may also monitor messages from alternate systems to make channel allocation decisions.

  • Patent number: 9843392
Abstract: A system is described for providing backhaul over an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON). The backhaul may be backhaul for EV-DO and/or EV-DO Rev. A communications. The system for includes at least one cell site. At least two base transceiver stations are located at the cell site. The base transceiver stations receive radio signals from respective mobile stations. A first one of the base transceiver stations provides a first backhaul signal, and a second one of the base transceiver stations provides a second backhaul signal. The cell site multiplexes these backhaul signals together onto an Ethernet passive optical network. In one embodiment, these signals are provided on different pseudowire connections within a single wavelength lambda on the passive optical network. In another embodiment, the signals are provided on different lambdas of the network.

  • Patent number: 9825883
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a structured, pipelined large time-space switch and method of operation resolving interconnect complexity. The time-space switch results in an interconnect complexity that does not grow as the spatial dimension is increased and results in a reduction of long high fan-out nets, a quicker layout, and improved clock speed. With respect to time-space switch fabric implementation, the present invention improves the maximum clock frequency of the switch fabric, and improves integrated circuit layout time by eliminating long high fan-out nets. Certain high-speed large switch fabrics may not be realizable without this implementation, and it significantly reduces implementation time (and cost).

  • Patent number: 9825847
Abstract: A system and method for chaining one or more services in a service provider network. A service chaining policy and associated Service Path Identifier (SPID) are determined at an ingress node with respect to a particular data packet flow. If the service chaining policy involves one or more service nodes to be traversed by the data packet flow, each service node's EIDs and RLOCs are determined. A sequential data exchange process with the service nodes is effectuated using encapsulation of data packets based on the EIDs and RLOCs for obtaining services in accordance with the order of services set forth in the chaining policy.

  • Patent number: 9820156
Abstract: All or a portion of a timeslot of a slotted communication system may be dynamically designated for transmitting or for receiving. For example, a timeslot originally designated for receiving information at a wireless node may be temporarily designated for transmitting information from the wireless node. Such a designation may be made to accommodate a temporary asymmetry in traffic flow between wireless nodes or may be made based on other criteria. In some aspects, a resource utilization messaging scheme may be employed to mitigate interference associated with the designation of timeslots for transmitting or receiving.

  • Patent number: 9769852
Abstract: A method, femto Base Station, and network service node for connecting a User Equipment UE, to local devices in a local network. The femtoBS includes a femtoBS part and a Packet Data Network Gateway, PDN-GW, part comprising a subset of PDN-GW functions. The UE sends a PDN connection request that includes a special Access Point Name, APN, which indicates the request ts for local IP access. The network service node, such as a Mobility Management Entity, MME1 includes a gateway selection mechanism that, based on the special APN1 selects the PDN GW part of the femtoBS device to serve the connection. A route optimization function in the femtoBS shortcuts the traffic between the femtoBS part and the PDN GW part, providing direct access to the local network. The UE may access the Internet through a residential gateway in the local network and a fixed access connection.

  • Patent number: 9723031
Abstract: There is proposed a mechanism for a connection control conducted in a communication network (such as IMS) when a back to back user agent (B2BUA) and network address translation function are involved in the establishment of the connection. When a control network element, such as a P-CSCF, receives a signaling message related to the establishment of the communication connection, via a communication leg coming from a network address translation device, it is determined whether address information contained in an SDP element of the signaling message matches with preset address information allocated to a border gateway function or BGF. When no matching is determined, normal processing like an initiation of a latching procedure at an own BGF is conducted. Otherwise, if a matching address information is determined, i.e. a mirrored SDP is deemed to be present, a latching processing at an own BGF is inhibited and the received BGF's address information are used in the connection establishment procedure.
