  • Patent number: 7085823
Abstract: In a network element management method and apparatus, and a network management system where mounting positions of physical components on a network element are unfixed, an external input mounting schedule for a physical component detachable from a network element as mounting plan information including a type of the physical component, a scheduled mounting position within the network element, and a scheduled mounting term is received through a graphical user interface. No overlap with a preliminarily provided mounting schedule for another physical component per each predetermined measure of the scheduled mounting position is confirmed based on the inputted mounting plan information. The mounting plan information is determined to be implementable only when all of the predetermined measures of the scheduled mounting position are confirmed.

  • Patent number: 7069322
Abstract: The present invention relates to a web browser apparatus and a web browsing method that allows a user to perform web browsing by simple operations of filling in a paper medium and inserting the paper medium in the apparatus. According to the present invention, an action identification code for deciding the next action is extracted from an input image and analyzed. The next action is decided based on an analysis result of the action identification code and the input image. Page data is obtained from a web server in accordance with the decided action. If a user instructs by filling in a physical medium on which the obtained page data is printed, an action identification code to be used for deciding an action corresponding to the instruction is prepared based on the page data obtained from the web server. An output image is prepared based on the prepared action identification code and the obtained page data and controlled to be printed on a physical medium (such as a paper medium).

  • Patent number: 7051105
Abstract: A system and method for distributing management events to external process is presented. A notification listener registers with a client notification service that resides locally with the notification listener. The registration includes one or more notification types in which the notification listener wishes to be notified. The client notification service configures a remote proxy located on a server to provide notification events to the client notification service that have one of the notification types. The remote proxy receives notification events from a server notification service, and provides the notification events to the client notification service. In turn, the client notification service provides the notification events to the notification listener. The remote proxy may be configured for push processing or pull processing.

  • Patent number: 7043528
Abstract: A data capture module can be connected to a multi-point control unit managing a video conference session just as the end point of a participant to the video conference session is connected. The data capture module receives the video and/or audio digital data content just as the participating end points receive the video and/or audio digital data content, via a video conference standard protocol technique. The data capture module is connected to a streaming module, which may be connectable to many data capture modules, each acting as a pseudo-participant in a different video conference session. The streaming module converts and transmits the received digital data as a multicast to one or more unicast servers, which in turn transmit to zero, one, or more multicast clients via a multimedia streaming protocol technique.

  • Patent number: 6980555
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for receiving a new policy tree at a network element in a network. The network element stores a current policy tree of classes for quality of service of packets being processed by the network element. Classes of the current policy tree are compared with the classes of the new policy tree. Classes of the current policy tree are selectively deleted and classes of the new policy tree are selectively added to the current policy tree based on the comparison of the classes.
