  • Patent number: 9924136
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein provide coordinated display transitions of renderings of content and people that are moved between display areas of a user interface to bring emphasis to salient activity of a teleconference session. For example, as renderings of people or content shift from one section of a UI to another, the movement is performed in a guiding manner that enables participants of a teleconference session to follow the relevant action of a session. The movement is also performed in a manner that is natural, fluid, and delightful to users. The coordination of moving elements may emphasize the movement of a first rendering of people or content and deemphasize other types of activity. In addition, one or more graphical displays can involve the use of an easing curve and parallax animation techniques to emphasize or deemphasize select renderings of people or content.

  • Patent number: 9912908
Abstract: A videoconferencing endpoint includes at least one processor a number of microphones and at least one camera. The endpoint can receive audio information and visual motion information during a teleconferencing session. The audio information includes one or more angles with respect to the microphone from a location of a teleconferencing session. The audio information is evaluated automatically to determine at least one candidate angle corresponding to a possible location of an active talker. The candidate angle can be analyzed further with respect to the motion information to determine whether the candidate angle correctly corresponds to person who is speaking during the teleconferencing session.

  • Patent number: 9883140
Abstract: A video conferencing system is described that includes a near-end and a far-end system. The near-end system records both audio and video of one or more users proximate to the near-end system. This recorded audio and video is transmitted to the far-end system through the data connection. The video stream and/or one or more settings of the recording camera are analyzed to determine the amount of a video frame occupied by the recorded user(s). The video conferencing system may directly analyze the video frames themselves and/or a zoom setting of the recording camera to determine a ratio or percentage of the video frame occupied by the recorded user(s). By analyzing video frames associated with an audio stream, the video conferencing system may drive a speaker array of the far-end system to more accurately reproduce sound content based on the position of the recorded user in a video frame.
