  • Patent number: 7880708
Abstract: A power control method for polarity inversion in an LCD panel comprises the step of providing a storage capacitor on a circuit board. Thereafter, the storage capacitor is charged to a first middle voltage. Next, the voltage of the VCOM channel is pulled up by a common output amplifier, only from the first middle voltage to a first upper voltage during a positive polarity period. Also, the voltage of the VCOM channel is pulled down by the common output amplifier, only from the first middle voltage to a first lower voltage during a negative polarity period.

  • Patent number: 7859506
Abstract: A mobile LCD device controls a common voltage signal VCOM to effectively display a landscape mode image instead of using a separate integrated chip (IC). The LCD device utilizes a method of displaying a landscape mode image including selecting a video frame from M video frames received from an external source where M is greater than or equal to 2. The selected video frame is stored in a video memory. The selected video frame is masked so as not to display the selected video frame while the selected video frame is stored. The stored video frame is displayed a predetermined number of times while the selected video frame is not stored thereby effectively displaying the landscape mode image.

  • Patent number: 7830336
Abstract: An output buffer circuit constituted by a totem-pole circuit where two NchMOS transistors are cascade-connected, and the connection point of the two MOS transistors are connected to a data electrode of a display cell, improves the power recovery rate of a driver device of a PDP. A level shift circuit includes a CMOS circuit and drives the output buffer circuit. An electric charge recovery circuit connected to a power supply of the output buffer circuit recovers and reuses electric charges remaining on the data electrode after the discharge of the display cells. A power supply control circuit controls so that the power supply voltage of the level shift circuit is higher than the sum of the power supply voltage of the output buffer circuit and the threshold voltage of the MOS transistors for a period of time during a recovery/reuse cycle of the electric charge recovery circuit.

  • Patent number: 7808483
Abstract: With respect to a system, device, and method for moving a graphical object, a computer system may include a display device, a processor configured to control movement of a graphical object in the display device, and an input device that includes a sensor for sensing movement of the input device and generating a first signal indicating the sensed movement and an input element for generating a second signal when operated. The input device may be configured to transmit to the processor at least the first signal for instructing the processor to move the graphical object in a direction corresponding to a direction of the movement indicated by the first signal. In response to the generation of the second signal, either responsiveness to the first signal by the processor may be inhibited or correspondence of movement of the graphical object to the movement indicated by the first signal may be reversed.

  • Patent number: 7804465
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel and a driver. The plasma display panel comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode crossing the first electrode and the second electrode. During a first frame, the driver alternately supplies a sustain signal to the first electrode and the second electrode and supplies a constant voltage to the third electrode. During a second frame having a smaller APL of the first frame, the driver alternately supplies a sustain signal to the first electrode and the second electrode and supplies an auxiliary signal to the third electrode so as to correspond to at least one sustain signal of the sustain signals supplied to the first electrode and the second electrode.

  • Patent number: 7683879
Abstract: The number of transistors in an output control circuit is significantly reduced in a liquid crystal display drive circuit. Also, power consumption is reduced and a drive voltage is stabilized. A pair of control transistors is provided for each of four output transistors TR1-TR4, resulting in total of eight control transistors being provided. The eight control transistors are switched according to a dot signal DA and a field signal DF to select one output transistor out of the four output transistors TR1-TR4. Transition from ON to OFF of the output transistors is quickened by steepening rise of DFp and DFBp that are applied to gates of the output transistors and fall of DFn and DFBn that are applied to gates of the output transistors. Also, transition from OFF to ON is delayed by slackening fall of DFp and DFBp and rise of DFn and DFBn.
