  • Patent number: 10152776
Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamically correcting image distortion during imaging of a patterned sample having repeating spots. Different sets of image distortion correction coefficients may be calculated for different regions of a sample during a first imaging cycle of a multicycle imaging run and subsequently applied in real time to image data generated during subsequent cycles. In one implementation, image distortion correction coefficients may be calculated for an image of a patterned sample having repeated spots by: estimating an affine transform of the image; sharpening the image; and iteratively searching for an optimal set of distortion correction coefficients for the sharpened image, where iteratively searching for the optimal set of distortion correction coefficients for the sharpened image includes calculating a mean chastity for spot locations in the image, and where the estimated affine transform is applied during each iteration of the search.

  • Patent number: 10127638
Abstract: An image haze removing apparatus includes at least a transmission coefficient generator, a low pass filter, a particle size parameter estimator, a transmission coefficient divider and a real image estimator. The transmission coefficient generator generates a transmission coefficient based on a captured image. The low pass filter outputs a low frequency image, which includes a low frequency component of the captured image. The particle size parameter estimator estimates a particle size parameter based on the low frequency image. The transmission coefficient divider divides the transmission coefficient based on the particle size parameter to generate first to third divided transmission coefficients, which correspond to red, green and blue data of the captured image, respectively. The real image estimator estimates a real image by applying the first to third divided transmission coefficients to the red, green and blue data of the captured image, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10115031
Abstract: Identifying a page with content in a video frame that is part of a video stream of successive video frames includes receiving the video stream, detecting edge segments in the video frame, where each of the edge segments is a candidate for being at least a part of an edge of the page, filtering the edge segments to discard a first subset of the edge segments based on curvature and based on angles between the edge segments and standard axes of the video frame, and identifying the page with content within a portion of a second subset of the edge segments that remain after filtering in response to the portion having geometric closeness to a rectangle. Edge segments having angles that significantly deviate from coordinate angles of the video frame and edge segments with a relatively high curvature may be discarded.
