  • Patent number: 6468235
Abstract: A facial aesthetic treatment apparatus includes a housing provided with a nozzle and a suction pump for developing a suction force. An attachment is mounted to the nozzle for applying the suction force to a facial skin for removal of sebum, dirt or the like debris from the facial skin. The apparatus is capable of regulating the suction force being applied to the skin, and particularly minimizing the suction force immediately in response to the user's action of ceasing the treatment, thereby making it easy to remove the attachment from the facial skin and therefore reducing a risk of causing a pain and leaving the purpuric mark as well. A regulator is incorporated to regulate the suction force being applied to the facial skin for easy and safe removal of the suction force.

  • Patent number: 6464652
Abstract: Machines for treating or preventing neuromuscular pain conditions and injuries by slow patientcontrolled stretching of a muscle or group of muscles when they and surrounding muscles are in a relaxed state (i.e., with little or no extrafusal muscle fiber contractions). The machines include a fixed support such as seat. An adjustable support, such as a back or side rest is adjusted for the particular patient. A controllable support moved in an alternating motion, under the patient's control, allows the injured or painful muscle to be slowly stretched by gravity, while the muscles are relaxed. The controllable support is preferably moved by a hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6461315
Abstract: When treating patients with severely injured or sick lungs, there is often the problem of providing a life sustaining treatment without risking further damage to the lungs as a result of the treatment itself. An apparatus for improving the distribution of gas in the lungs of a patient to alleviate this problem directs a controllable pressure to one or several selected positions on the patient's thorax. In one embodiment of the apparatus, the apparatus includes a vest which includes compartments which can be filled with a fluid under pressure from a pressure source via tubes.

  • Patent number: 6436126
Abstract: A mounting for the head section of a chiropractic table that allows the practitioner to maintain a much greater degree of control over the various manipulations typically performed on the patient. The head support section has a cushion that is mounted for slideable movement along the longitudinal axis of the table which coincides with the patient's spine. A linkage arrangement allows the proximal end of the cushion to remain substantially the same distance from the chest lumbar section of the table as the head section is tilted downwardly. This allow a controlled flexion movement of the patient's cervical spine. The amount of gap and thus the amount of flexion can be adjusted by adjusting the linkage that is a part of the head section structure. In addition, the slideable movement of the head cushion longitudinally allows the practitioner to apply traction to the patient's spine with or without flexion, if such a movement is determined to be desirable.
