  • Patent number: 4572359
Abstract: A conveyor belt is disclosed, which comprises an upper covering rubber layer, a lower covering rubber layer, and a core layer embedded between the upper and lower covering layers and is adapted for used in conveyance while being elastically deformed in such a cylindrical shape as to overlap the widthwise edge portions thereof with each other. • Patent number: 4569437
Abstract: An inclined furnace grate for an industrial furnace or incinerator with transverse grate beams supporting a downwardly stepped succession of banks of stationary and reciprocating grate bars, the grate beams having arranged in their supporting surfaces removable bearing pads of abrasion-resistant, alloyed cast iron for the sliding support and lateral positioning of the reciprocating grate bars, thereby protecting the softer cast iron grate beams against sliding wear and abrasion. The removable bearing pads are received inside shallow recessed seats and retained in place by the adjacent stationary grate bars.

  • Patent number: 4562918
Abstract: An en-mass conveyor for vertically or steeply lifting bulk material has two, primary, flat, endless belt conveyors which are vertical or steeply-inclined throughout facing, correspondingly-progressing, material-conveying runs thus forming a belt shaft. One of the primary belts has flights or similar impellers which extend to the other belt in the belt shaft. Two, secondary, endless, flat belts laterally close the belt shaft along with one or two side or closure walls which are vertically immovable and provided with an opening for laterally feeding of the bulk material into the belt shaft for conveyance.

  • Patent number: 4558982
Abstract: An apparatus and method for treatment of hollow articles by evacuating existing gas or gases therefrom and purging or backfilling the articles with a second gas such as helium. The apparatus includes a sealed enclosure having an article storage drum mounted therein. A multiplicity of such articles are fed singly into the enclosure and loaded into radial slots formed in the drum. The enclosure is successively evacuated and purged with helium to replace the existing gas in the articles with helium. The purged articles are then discharged singly from the drum and transported out of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4548312
Abstract: First and second chambers, each having a rotor are interconnected by a passage. The first chamber has a contoured periphery to receive articles and the passage is shaped and dimensioned to permit travel therealong only of those articles which are orientated in the first chamber with their longitudinal axes either in the direction of travel or normal to the direction of travel. Articles in other orientations are carried round the first chamber by the rotor for representation at the passage. The rotor in the second chamber permits the passage of those articles which have their longitudinal axes in the direction of travel and topples the articles having their axes normal to the direction of travel into positions in which the axes are in the direction of travel.

  • Patent number: 4540086
Abstract: An automatic closing spout for a combine grain auger which opens when there is grain passing through the auger comprising a pivotally mounted collecting bucket attached adjacent the discharge opening of the auger with counterweighted arms extending outwardly from the collecting bucket to hold the bucket in a closed position, but insufficient when the bucket is full of grain from dumping and allowing grain to discharge from the auger housing and including a secondary closing means in the form of a permanent magnet which holds the collecting bucket in its closed position to prevent premature discharge therefrom.
