The method includes receiving, at the print device, a print job request that includes a color print job, determining, at the print device, print job data including data associated with the color print job and the print device, wherein the data associated with the print device includes an ambient temperature sensed by an embedded temperature sensor in the print device, and transmitting, by the print device, the print job data to a cloud server to request a stored matching color profile having associated data that matches, within a defined threshold, the print job data. Using techniques disclosed herein, printer calibration is automated using big data analytics (i.e., continuous learning, analyzing, and optimizing).
