    Abstract: A tibial resurfacing system is provided that includes a drill guide, bone chisel and implant. In one aspect, the system includes a drill guide that includes a targeting ring and a bore section for creating an axis through the tibia to the superior tibial surface in the vicinity of the targeting ring. In another aspect, a bone chisel is provided that includes a bone-cutting end, having a transverse angle creating an elliptical bone-cutting face. In another aspect, an implant is provided that includes an angled bearing element formed of a cylindrical member having a first end defining a load-bearing surface, and a second end. The first end is formed at an angle that creates an elliptical face of the first end.

    Abstract: The invention is directed toward a bone block, a bone-tendon-bone assembly and method of tendon reconstruction in which at least one tendon replacement is extended between two bone blocks and fixed within each of two bone tunnels in the bones of a joint using interference screws. Each bone block has a central through going bore and at least one substantially parallel channel longitudinally cut in the exterior of the bone block body in which the ligament replacements are seated. One end of each bone block has a rounded recess leading from the central bore to the exterior parallel channel.

    Abstract: A spinal fixation system includes a rod, an anchor, and a clamp assembly. The anchor is adapted to engage a bone. The clamp assembly secures the anchor to the rod. The clamp assembly includes a first portion with first and second flanges for receiving the anchor. A compressible ball is carried by the second portion of the clamp assembly. The ball has a through hole receiving the rod. The through hole is defined by a generally cylindrical inner surface having at least one relieved channel. The first and second flanges include first and second opposing surfaces, respectively. The first and second opposing surfaces are normally angled relative to one another. A nut which threadably engages an upper shaft of the fastener is tightened to draw together the first and second flanges to a position in which they are generally parallel to one another. At least a portion of the through hole tapers from one of the first and second ends towards a center of the ball.

    Abstract: An endovascular apparatus is provided for treating the effects of vascular disease including aneurysms and arterial blockages using a percutaneous, minimally invasive technique. In one embodiment the endovascular apparatus includes a tubular sleeve having a cranial end, a first caudal branch, and a second caudal branch such that the tubular sleeve is shaped like an upside down “Y.” The apparatus further includes at least one expandable attachment device attached to the tubular sleeve for securing the endovascular apparatus to an interior wall of a vessel. The at least one expandable attachment device includes a plurality of telescoping segments similar to the telescoping segments of a presentation pointer. Accordingly, during percutaneous insertion of the endovascular apparatus into a patient the attachment device can be collapsed into a small profile.
