  • Patent number: 6109881
Abstract: A gas driven pump controls the process fluid pressure within a filtering and dispensing system. A pressure controller in the pump controls gas pressure within an enclosed chamber in the pump. The gas chamber is adjacent a floating piston that rests atop a layer of incompressible fluid in a fluid chamber. The incompressible fluid connects to a diaphragm head. As the gas pressure is increased, the floating piston will transmit that pressure through the incompressible fluid that then forces a relative displacement in the process fluid flow. A feedback system used in conjunction with the gas driven pump controls the gas pressure in order to regulate the process fluid flow.In addition, a positive displacement compensator can be used in conjunction with the gas driven pump in order to further regulate the process flow.

  • Patent number: 6099270
Abstract: A single-piece piston for use in a pneumatically-activated pump or other metering device to meter a predetermined amount of lubricant or other liquid. The piston is disposed within a chamber of the body of the metering device. The piston has a grooved end that includes a head portion and a circumferentially-disposed angled channel for containing a sealing member such as an O-ring. An adjacent stem section includes means for providing a fluid-flow connection with the angled channel. Lateral movement of the piston within the body causes the sealing member to shift and block and unblock the fluid-flow connection means, which allows liquid from a liquid chamber to flow out the head of the piston's grooved end and to an adjacent pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 6068447
Abstract: The present invention provides a controller for an air compressor system. The air compressor system includes an air compressor, control unloaders on the air compressor to prevent the air compressor from compressing gases when signaled to unload, an electric motor for driving the air compressor, and a tank for receiving and storing compressed gases from the air compressor. The controller has an adjustable pressure switch to raise or lower the discharge pressure. The differential pressure is pre-set in the pressure switch. The controller includes two methods of operating the air compressor, each of which is manually selected by operating a switch that will designate start/stop control or automatic dual control at the option of the operator. The start/stop control will start the motor when the pressure in the system reaches a predetermined low point. When the preselected high pressure point is reached, a signal is sent to the motor to stop, thereby ending the compressing cycle.

  • Patent number: 6065945
Abstract: A hydraulic engine employs dual cylinders and pistons of different diameter connected end-to-end in collinear alignment. Fluid from a pressurized source drives the large piston to transmit power to a crankshaft. An electromagnetic actuator, controlled by a distributor, opens a control valve, admitting fluid to the large cylinder. A hydraulic actuator closes the control valve, shutting off fluid flow. The hydraulic actuator responds to pressure drop when the large piston uncovers an exhaust port. Fluid drains to a tank, and the cycle repeats. The small piston recirculates fluid from the tank to the source.

  • Patent number: 6056511
Abstract: A connection module is disclosed for a submergible pumping system of the type including a submergible electric motor and a pump drivingly coupled to the motor. The system may also include additional components such as a fluid separators, an injection pump, and so forth. The connection module includes a body through which a fluid passage is formed. A recess is formed in the body for receiving a cable for transmitting power to the submergible electric motor. The fluid passage transfers fluid within the pumping system, such as by means of shrouds disposed around the system components. The connection module also includes an electrical connector for completing current carrying paths between a supply cable and the motor. The connection module may thus serve as the motor head in which the electrical connections are made, but through which fluid is channeled to system components.

  • Patent number: 6053711
Abstract: Pump to supply fluid to at least two circuits in a control system for a production well. Each of the circuits is maintained at different pressures. The pump provides fluid to a plurality of poppets that are opened or closed depending on the positions of a cam surface which controls the position of the poppet. A pressure relief valve is used to prohibit fluid from entering a circuit unless the pressure exceeds the pressure of the fluid in the control circuit. The cam surfaces are controlled by a knob rotatable by an operator. By rotating the knob, the poppets can be opened or closed so as to provide fluid sequentially to each of the circuits and pressurize each circuit individually.

  • Patent number: 6053709
Abstract: A pneumatically driven pump includes a piston threadably connected to each end of a common connecting hollow rod which is inserted over a pumped material receiving tube, with this assembly enclosed in a housing. The pistons reciprocate in response to compressed air sequentially directed through different air ports in the housing, alternatively drawing in pumped material and then pumping it out of the pump through the pumped material tube along the center of the pump. A check valve at each of the inflow and outflow ends of the pump prevents back flow of the pumped material.

  • Patent number: 6048182
Abstract: A high volume low pressure (hereinafter HVLP) blower having a blower motor with a cooling fan for passing cooling air over the blower motor and a blower turbine connected to and driven by the blower motor for delivering HVLP air to an air outlet. An air intake communicates fresh incoming air to the cooling fan and to the blower turbine. The HVLP blower has a blower housing having mounted therein the blower motor and blower turbine. The blower housing has exhaust vents therein for exhausting cooling air exhaust to the atmosphere. An exhaust plenum within the blower housing prevents mixing of the incoming air with the cooling air exhaust and provides a first passageway for cooling air exhaust to be communicated from the cooling fan to the exhaust vents, such that the exhaust vents direct the cooling air exhaust away from the air intake.
