A cone angle of the diffuser forming the outlet portion (4) of the flow-through channel is greater than a cone angle of the converging tube forming the inlet portion (2) of the same channel. Alternatively, the converging tube forming the inlet portion of the flow-through channel is made conoid-shaped. Implementation of the liquid sprayer allows steady-state fine-dispersed liquid flow to be generated at the minimal energy consumption.

The collision wall is disposed within a retention chamber for temporary retaining the foamed aerosol content.

    Abstract: A torque plate for use with a sprinkler head in a fire suppression system is disclosed. The torque plate has a base from which one or more fingers project transversely. The torque plate is mounted on the sprinkler head. A protective cover surrounds the sprinkler head. The fingers project outwardly beyond the cover, allowing a tool to engage them. The tool is formed from an elongated body having a cavity that is sized to receive the cover. One end of the body interfaces with a wrench, the other end has one or more axially extending slots sized to receive the fingers of the torque plate. The sprinkler plate has a threaded nipple that engages a threaded fitting on the sprinkler system. Torque is applied to engage the nipple with the fitting by engaging the slots of the tool with the fingers and turning the tool with the wrench.

The system also includes a deluge valve that is in selective fluid communication with the system piping and has a normally closed condition whereby the system piping is normally dry. The deluge valve controls the flow of suppressant to the system piping and the sprinkler. A control system, which is in communication with at least one source of power, opens the deluge valve in a fire condition when the power source is in a powered condition and opens the deluge valve in a loss of pressure condition when the power source is in a loss of power condition.

Values relating the environmental factor(s) may enter the controller from a local sensor (240), a distal signal source, or both.

Magnetic flux generated by the electromagnetic coil causes the viscosity of the magnetically-active fluid within the magneto-hydraulic compensator to increase, causing the magneto-hydraulic compensator to become substantially rigid during actuation of the fuel injector.
