  • Patent number: 7187330
Abstract: An antenna element includes a radiating antenna element having an elliptical shape disposed on a first surface of a substrate. A dielectric clearance region having an elliptical shape is disposed about the radiating antenna element to space the radiating antenna element from a ground plane. The clearance region is shaped such that a portion of the radiating element in which an antenna feed is disposed is proximate the ground plane. The antenna can also be provided having an elliptically shaped tuning region disposed within the radiating antenna element. The antenna is suitable for use in single-ended or differential ultra wide band (UWB) transmitting and/or receiving systems.

  • Patent number: 7176839
Abstract: This antenna unit is adapted to be connected to an electronic device for transmitting a received radio signal to the electronic device. The antenna unit comprises a noise canceller for canceling noise generated in the electronic device and transmitted to the antenna unit through a ground line. The noise canceller is a conductive stub piece one end of which is electrically connected to an electromagnetic shield of the antenna unit and the other end of which is a free end. The stub piece has a length of about ΒΌ of a wavelength of the radio signal.

  • Patent number: 7176641
Abstract: A heat generating portion of a heater which is incorporated in an indirectly heated cathode structure of an electron gun for a cathode ray tube is formed by joining a first winding portion and a second winding portion which differ in the number of coil winding layers and by twisting and winding a joined body in a double helical structure. The present invention allows a cathode temperature to have a high temperature and hence, it is possible to enhance the electron irradiation characteristics even when a degree of in-tube vacuum is lowered.

  • Patent number: 7142171
Abstract: A helix radiating element is disclosed. The helix radiating element includes a support, a base and a helix wire. The support is made up of a dielectric material including a PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) material. The base is coupled to the support and is made up of boron nitride. The helix wire is configured to be wrapped around the support and bonded to the base. The base is coupled to a ground plane. A boron nitride filled adhesive is used to bond the support to the base and bond the helix wire to the base. The boron nitride filled adhesive is also used to bond the base to the ground plane. Heat generated in the helix wire is transferred to the ground plane via the base.

  • Patent number: 7132991
Abstract: A miniature antenna for various wireless communication applications in the ISM band around 2.45 GHz is provided. The miniature antenna mainly contains a bended planar notch antenna with a metallic stub as a capacitive load. A microstrip feed line is also appropriately bended so as to achieve a significant reduction of the antenna's dimension. The miniature antenna could be implemented using simple manufacturing processes on a common circuit board without mechanical work or advanced processes such as low temperature co-fired ceramics. The antenna has a comparable performance to those antennas having much larger dimensions.

  • Patent number: 7126552
Abstract: Device for transmission of electromagnetic radiation through a wall. In order to couple transmission-reception means (2, 4) located on each side of the wall (6), this device comprises two antennas (12, 14) placed on each side of this wall and connected to each other through this wall. Electromagnetic protection means (20) are arranged on all or some of the surfaces of the wall facing the antennas and are made of an electrically conducting material. This device is particularly applicable to a transmitter-receiver system for which one of the components is in a slightly conducting container.

  • Patent number: 7109927
Abstract: A miniature broadband monopole antenna design configured with integrated band-selecting filtering is disclosed. The antenna is electrically folded, and includes top and bottom monopole sections, with a meanderline to provide an inductive load between the two sections. The overall antenna structure can be embedded in a relatively small, RF transparent, composite structure (e.g., such as the fin of a guided munition), and has minimal impact on aerodynamics (low drag). The top, bottom, and meanderline elements of the antenna operate together to collectively provide multi-band operation (e.g., 30 MHz to 3 GHz).
