  • Patent number: 11075710
Abstract: A system and method for providing confidentiality against eavesdropping and authentication against impersonation attacks for advanced wireless communication systems are disclosed. The method exploits ARQ as a MAC layer mechanism and artificial noise as a physical layer mechanism with maximal ratio combining to achieve secrecy. An artificial noise, not requiring class space in the channel, is designed and added to the data package based on the QoS requirements and channel condition between legitimate parties. Basically, a special AN, which does not require null-space in the channel, is designed based on the QoS requirements and the channel condition between the legitimate parties and injected to the data packet. If the same packet is requested by the legitimate receiver (Bob), an AN cancelling signal is designed and added to the next packet. Then, an AN-free packet is obtained by using MRC process at Bob, while deteriorating the eavesdropper's performance.

  • Patent number: 11051137
Abstract: A method and system for distributed messaging between a plurality of computer devices using a short range wireless communication protocol (SRWP) is disclosed. The communication protocol can be one in which slave devices provide data to master devices. A device automatically establishes master and slave connections with other devices via the protocol as they come into range. A user-entered message is displayed on the device and broadcast by the device over slave connections to other connected devices. Messages received by the device over its master connections are displayed and also rebroadcast to other connected devices. Messages can be displayed for a limited time period during which they fade or otherwise are altered to provide a visual indication of the display lifetime remaining for that message. A relay can be provided to receive an rebroadcast messages to connected devices and inject into the SRWP network from devices outside the network.

  • Patent number: 10939322
Abstract: Signaling strategies for an advanced receiver with interference cancellation (IC) and suppression is discussed. Upon enablement of an advanced interference cancellation procedure according to the disclosure, transmitters within the enabled area transmit according to transmission restriction configurations that provide transmission limits based on either frequency, time, or scheduling. The restrictions on the transmitters reduces the complexity of processing by neighboring advanced receivers for cancellation of interference from the restricted transmitters. At the advanced receiver, transmission information, such as scheduling, reference signal (RS), resource block (RB) allocation, and the like, may either be determined through blind detection or received directly through signaling. The advanced receiver may use this transmission information associated with each interfering signal to detect, decode, and subtract the interfering signals from the received transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10917863
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe configuring a number of antennas in an antenna array to use in communicating in a wireless network. The number of antennas of the antenna array, less than all available antennas for transmission or reception in the antenna array, can be determined such to achieve a radio frequency (RF) power that results in a certain effective data rate for communicating in the wireless network. The number of antennas can be indicated, over a backhaul, to one or more other access points of the wireless network to coordinate using of the number of antennas at a determined time. • Patent number: 10893488
Abstract: Radio Frequency (RF) power back-off optimization techniques are described for specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance. A mobile device may be configured to intelligently modify antennas and radio device transmission levels to maintain compliance with SAR limits while minimally perturbing radio operations. The mobile device may implement a SAR optimization scheme that accounts for user presence and signal conditions to maintain compliance. Rather than setting a fixed back-off, user presence detectors may be employed along with information on current signal conditions to determine potential for excessive SAR exposure and selectively apply variable adjustments to RF transmission power (e.g., “back-offs”), accordingly. The mobile device may also be configured to report SAR conditions and/or mitigation actions to a base station to enable the base station to manage a connection to services based at least in part upon knowledge of SAR actions taken by the mobile computing device.
