  • Patent number: 6761418
Abstract: A brake fluid pressure control device controls brake fluid pressures through control of fluid pressure control valves operated in accordance with control signals from, for example, a computer. Signal lines for supplying control signals to control circuits controlling coils of linear valve devices for some wheels (e.g., front-left and rear-right wheels) are connected to a brake ECU by a connector, and signal lines for supplying control signals to the control circuits controlling coils of linear valve devices for other wheels (e.g., front-right and rear-left wheels) are connected to the brake ECU by a different connector. Thus, even if one of the connectors starts operating abnormally, it is possible to supply control signals via the signal lines connected by the other connector and control linear valve devices for some of the wheels (e.g., a pair of diagonally located wheels).

  • Patent number: 6755489
Abstract: A control device for an electric vehicle stopping at a slope road which reduces a power consumption of the electric motor when the vehicle is stopping at the slope road with the generation of a drive torque. The device judges the stopping state of the vehicle at the slope road when a condition that a throttle opening degree is not zero, that the drive torque is not zero, and that a vehicle speed is zero continues for a predetermined time, applies a hydraulic pressure P relative to wheel cylinder, and decreases the drive torque outputting to the motor to be zero. The device judges a release of the stopping state at the slope road when a condition that a throttle opening degree becomes greater than a throttle opening degree under the vehicle stopping state at the slope road, recovers the drive torque, and gradually releases an application of the hydraulic pressure to the wheel cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6752388
Abstract: A spring arrangement includes two coaxial spring components (4a, 4b) which are mounted so as to oppose each other. Each of the spring components includes a rolling-lobe flexible member (6a, 6b) and a roll-off piston (8a, 8b) corresponding thereto. The two rolling-lobe flexible members (6a, 6b) define a common double rolling-lobe flexible member (6) and the two spring components (4a, 4b) have a common outer jacket (10). A simple assembly and a reliable fixation of the double rolling-lobe flexible member (6) on the outer jacket (10) is provided. For this purpose, the double rolling-lobe flexible member (6) has a clamp ring (18 or 26) mounted internally. The outer jacket (10) includes two parts (10a and 10b) having respective ends. The double rolling-lobe flexible member (6) is clamped between these ends with the aid of the clamp ring (18 and 26). The air spring arrangement is especially applicable in the forward wheel fork (16) of a two-wheel vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6752248
Abstract: An axially asymmetrical vibration-reducing torque tube radially surrounds an axle and axially spans brake disks with intervening ones of the brake disks angularly fixed to a torque tube. The torque tube is a hollow generally annular member having an axis, a radially outwardly flared portion near one end to facilitate axially fixing end one of the disks, a flange near the other end thereof adapted to fix the torque tube to the stationary member, and a radially inwardly extending annular support flange intermediate the one and other end for augmenting the support of the tube on the stationary member. Cut-outs in support flange impart dynamic asymmetry to the torque tube and displace its elastic center off-axis of the brake discs, reducing the brake vibration amplitudes. A brake actuating mechanism is operable upon command to axially force the pressure plate toward the end plate compressing the brake disks therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6752249
Abstract: An actuating unit for an electromechanically actuated disc brake for automotive vehicles which is composed of a drive unit or an electric motor, an actuating element forming one of two friction linings into engagement with a brake disc, and a reducing gear. A freewheel mechanism that interacts with the electric motor has the function of a parking brake. In order to ensure a high level of reliability in operation of the parking brake and to render it resistant to external influences, in particular, oscillations or vibrations, the present invention suggest that the freewheel mechanism be configured in such a way that its clamping effect is produced by a form-locking torque transmission and that, in its actuated state, it prevents a rotational movement of a bearing in which the rotor of the electric motor is mounted.

  • Patent number: 6749185
Abstract: A cushion assembly includes a lower end wall which is at least partially enclosed by a tubular cylindrical outer wall. An upper end wall is also partially enclosed by the outer wall. A tubular cylindrical inner wall extends between recesses in the lower end wall and the upper end wall.
