  • Patent number: 5007807
Abstract: A compressor assembly is disclosed including a compressor mechanism resiliently mounted within a hermetically sealed housing. The compressor mechanism includes a crankcase having a radially extending mounting flange portion, which is resiliently connected to the housing sidewall at a plurality of circumferentially spaced locations by a plurality of mounting assemblies. Each mounting assembly comprises a rubber bushing received within a hole in the mounting flange, and a threaded stud that extends through a hole in the bushing and engages a threaded hole in a steel block welded to the housing sidewall above the mounting flange. A washer and retaining nut on the bottom of the threaded stud suspendingly support the mounting flange. In this manner, only a peripheral portion of the washer contacts the mounting flange circumjacent the hole therein, thereby minimizing noise transmission to the housing. Lateral movement of the compressor mechanism is absorbed by the bushing.

  • Patent number: 4968233
Abstract: A gear motor includes a housing provided with a cylindrical opening therein. A cover covers the opening of the housing to form an enclosed chamber. A shaft is rotatably supported on the cover and housing. An outer tooth gear is axially movably mounted on the shaft and integrally rotatable with the shaft. An inner tooth gear meshes with the outer tooth gear to form actuating chambers. An inlet port is formed on the cover for introducing a high pressure fluid to the actuating chambers. An outlet port is formed on the cover for discharging the fluid from actuating chambers. High and low pressure ports are provided in both the cover and housing. The outer circumferential portion of the high pressure port of housing is larger in radius than that of the high pressure port of the cover.

  • Patent number: 4960370
Abstract: The rotary piston machine has two internal rotors (2, 3) fixed to a common shaft (12) and two external rotors (4, 5) rigidly interconnected by means of an annular rotor disk (9). The working spaces (16) between the engagement parts of both external rotors (4, 5) extend a maximum extension (19) radially inward past the inner boundary of rotor disk (9). For the axial sealing of the working spaces (16), also in the area of said extension (19), the rotor disk (9) encloses a partition body (15), which surrounds the shaft (12) of the internal rotors (2, 3) by means of a bearing (43). A further bearing (13) is provided between rotor disk (9) and partition body (15). Partition body (15) is prevented from concomitant rotation with one of the two rotary machine parts (9, 12) adjacent thereto as a result of the radial displacement of the shaft (12) engaging therein relative to the rotation axis of rotor disk (9).

  • Patent number: 4946355
Abstract: A positive displacement pump is particularly adapted for corrosive, abrasive and viscous liquids. It employs a combination of orbital and nodding movements provided by a unique mechanism. A rotor member, mounted eccentrically on a drive shaft, fits closely within a pumping chamber which it drives in an orbital path along an inclined plate having fluid inlet and outlet ports. The resultant cyclic increase and decrease in volume of the chamber beneath the rotor member draws in fluid and discharges it under pressure. For fluids of greater viscosity (or where reduced flow rate is desired) the angle of tilt is reduced, without lessening the power afforded for pumping.

  • Patent number: 4944663
Abstract: A sliding member of an iron-based non-porous material, such as vane, of a rotary compressor has a sliding surface processed by a surface treatment in which the surface is subjected to oxidizing and nitriding to form an oxidized and nitrided layer thereon. The surface is then subjected to a steam-treatment in which water is caused to react with components of the oxidized and nitrided layer to form a layer of oxidized iron of a porous network structure disposed outwardly of the oxidized and nitrided layer. The oxidized iron layer is composed mainly of tri-iron tetroxide and softer than the oxidized and nitrided layer.

  • Patent number: 4941810
Abstract: A sliding-vane rotary compressor includes a cylinder having a plurality of discharge holes aligned in an axial direction of the cylinder, and a corresponding number of discharge valves normally closing the respective discharge holes. Respective openings of the discharge valves are limited in such a manner as to increase progressively in a direction from a front side to a rear side of the cylinder to thereby produce a pressure difference between the front and rear sides of the cylinder. With this pressure difference, the cylinder is normally urged toward one side and hence is unlikely to oscillate in the axial direction. The compressor thus constructed is capable of operating silently without generating an unpleasant oscillating noise.

  • Patent number: 4938670
Abstract: A rotary fluid machine includes two intermeshing rotors rotatably mounted in a double-cylinder bore portion of a casing, each rotor having two lobe portions disposed on two opposite ends of a long coordinate axis of the rotor and having a waist portion confined by two shallow recess portions formed on two opposite sides of a short coordinate axis of the rotor so that one rotor can be smoothly rotatably engageable with the other rotor in a single-point contact for a smooth running of the two rotors. For a buffer of a higher output fluid pressure, a balancing chamber is formed between the bore portion and a fluid outlet so that a fluid suddenly increased with fluid pressure may be backflowed into the bore portion through a plurality of holes formed in a partition plate between the chamber and the bore portion for preventing water or air hammer when handling high-pressure fluid.

  • Patent number: 4936755
Abstract: A rotary distributor fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine has a pair of pumping plungers housed in a diametrical bore formed in the distributor member. The plungers at a predetermined position during their inward movement open a spill path to terminate delivery of fuel through an outlet. The one plunger defines a plunger bore and the other plunger has an integral piston slidable therein. The piston has a relieved portion adjacent the other plunger which with the wall of the plunger bore forms a flow path from the pumping chamber the flow path communicating with a port at a predetermined position during the inward movement. The pumping chamber is of annular form and is defined between the plungers and the wall of the bore in the distributor member and the piston.

  • Patent number: 4919600
Abstract: A tire pump with a pressure gage including a cylinder having a piston rod and a piston head slidably provided in the cylinder. A peep hole is formed in the cylinder. An outlet is formed at a front end of the cylinder. A pressure measuring device with a pressure indicating element is disposed at a front end of the cylinder so that the pressure indicating element is readable through the peep hole. The pressure measuring device interconnects the outlet of the cylinder. A bypass tube with a check valve is disposed beside the pressure measuring device so that air pressurized by the piston head flows out from the outlet through the bypass tube. The pressurized air also flows through air holes in order that the pressure within the pumped tire can be read from the pressure indicating element of the pressure measuring device through the peep hole.
