  • Patent number: 4162017
Abstract: An installation for storing and handling a granular or pulverulent product, comprising a vessel for storing the product, which may be extracted by means of at least one handling apparatus comprising a raking scoop which causes, during its active travel, the product to pour over the upper edge of an upwardly divergent wall of the vessel. The storage vessel is disposed in a store protected from the exterior medium. The handling apparatus, or each handling apparatus is constituted by a dragline the raking scoop of which is carried by a rigid boom which is mounted on a movable frame located outside the vessel in a high position adjacent the divergent wall of the vessel. A device is provided for filling the vessel and adapted to pour the product in the vicinity of the path described by the end of the dragline boom opposed to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4114671
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for vehicles has a tread band provided with grooves which extend circumferentially about the tire. The grooves are formed by a series of substantially rectilinear sections which are disposed at a predetermined angle with the equatorial plane of the tire and intersect to impart a zig-zag arrangement to the grooves about the tire. The intersections between said groove sections are situated in planes parallel to the equatorial plane of the tire, and each tread surface portion between one of the parallel planes and a pair of adjacent sections of a groove is shaped so the distance at its points from the tire axis gradually decreases from the parallel plane toward the region in which the sections of the pair of adjacent sections intersect.

  • Patent number: 4112540
Abstract: A mechanism for moving a sliding door of a railway car is capable of moving the sliding door between a first position in which the sliding door is supported on the body of the railway car and closes an opening in the railway car body and a second position in which the sliding door is supported by the mechanism and is moveable along the railway car body so that cargo may be loaded and unloaded into and out of the opening in the railway car. The mechanism includes a crank and a roller rotatably mounted on the crank. The crank is rotatably mounted to the sliding door about an axis of rotation which allows movement of the roller through an opening in the bottom portion of the sliding door while limiting lateral movement of the crank which allows for clearance between the roller and the opening when the roller moves through the opening in the sliding door. An actuating member is provided and is rotatably mounted on the sliding door about an axis. The actuating member has at least one lug thereon.

  • Patent number: 4113120
Abstract: A trash container with a bustle and a bustle actuator is removeably carried on a vehicle with a tiltable chassis. The container has a generally box like configuration and a moveably trash compacting side pivotally connected to the container. The vehicle chassis has a pivotally mounted compactor arm adapted to cooperate with the pivotally moveable compacting side of the trash container such that the compactor arm alternately opens and closes the moveable side of the container for compacting trash therein. A ledge structure on the vehicle chassis supports the pivotal axis of the moveable side of the container in co-axial alignment with the pivotal axis of the compactor arm. The container is moved on and off of the chassis by tilting the chassis and connecting the compactor arm to the container by a chain. A crusher is pivotally mounted on the trash container to force trash downwardly into the container. Inclined racks are provided for supporting the containers when they are not on a vehicle.
