Abstract: A composition comprisinga) a lubricant or a hydraulic fluid andb) at least one compound of the general formula I ##STR1## in which x=1 or 2 and,if x=1,R is as defined for R.sup.1 or R.sup.3 --O-- or,if x=2,R is as defined for R.sup.8, andR.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are, for example, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, naphthyl, aralkyl or alkaryl, or alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, naphthyl, aralkyl or alkaryl, which are monosubstituted or polysubstituted by groups from the series comprising halogen, cyano, nitro, e.g. --OCH.sub.3 or e.g. --COOCH.sub.3, or alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or alkaryl which are interrupted by one or more groups from the series comprising --O--, --S--, --NH--, ##STR2## or alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or alkaryl which are monosubstituted or polysubstituted by groups from the series comprising halogen, cyano, nitro, e.g. --OCH.sub.3 or e.g. --COOCH.sub.3 and interrupted by one or more groups from the series comprising --O--, --S--, --NH--, ##STR3## and R.sup.2 is NR.sup.4 R.

Abstract: In an active hydrogen-containing B-side composition for reaction with a polyisocyanate-containing A-side composition to make a polyurethane or polyurethane/urea elastomer by reaction injected molding, the improvement which comprises a mold release composition which is the reaction product of a C.sub.12 -C.sub.36 fatty acid, a tertiary amine having at least one C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 alkyl substituent and a C.sub.2 -C.sub.21 reactive epoxide.

Abstract: Ingredients or precursor for synthesizing or formulating urethane polymers and prepolymers are dried by admixing therewith an enamine which reacts with the water. While some ingredients, such as polyols and solvents, can be individually dried in this manner, the enamine preferably is added after the polyol(s), solvent(s) and additives have been blended. When prepolymers having a relatively low free isocyanate content are to be synthesized or admixed with other ingredients, a sufficient amount of an isocyanate, preferably the same one used for synthesis, is added to react with amines liberated by the enamine-water reaction to produce an inert urea derivative.

Abstract: The invention relates to sheet molding compounds having improved viscosity control comprising polyester-polyurethane hybrid resins formed by the reaction of an A side composition and a B side composition. The A side composition comprises a polyfunctional isocyanate compound and a free radical polymerization catalyst. The B side composition comprises a mixture of (i) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer solution having no active hydrogen groups which has dissolved therein about 40-90 weight percent of a substantially water-free, unsaturated polyester polyol having at least one dicarboxylic alkene moiety and having an acid number less than five; and (ii) a methacrylate ester of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkylene diol.

Abstract: An aqueous dispersion of an anionic polyurethane, said polyurethane comprising a chain extended, aliphatic diisocyanatae containing, prepolymer; said prepolymer including carboxy groups neutralized with a tertiary amine composition comprising dimethylaminoethanol, said prepolymer being chain extended with a diamine comprising hydrazine.The invention also includes a film formed from the dispersion and a floor covering coated with such film. The film may be crosslinked with an agent such as melamine-formaldehyde resin.
