Patent number: 4862194Abstract: The present invention provides a label printer which enables a large amount of information to be printed on a label without being restricted by the memory capacity of an image buffer by printing such information on the label by several successive printing operations. In the label printer, in case the amount of information to be printed on a label exceeds the memory capacity of the image buffer, printing picture image data are divided into several blocks having arbitrary amounts of data and are produced in the image buffer. Every time, a picture image is formed on the label in accordance with the printing picture image data.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1987Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Tokyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Kaoru Uematsu

Patent number: 4862287Abstract: A dot line printer is releasably connected by a control circuit to the output of a monitor which senses variations or faults in the AC line voltage for a computer or the like. Each time the monitor senses any one of the five different voltage disturbances, the information is transmitted as digital data to the printer, which then produces a continuous strip chart or graphical printout of the voltage variations. The printer advances paper continuously and in small increments, while printing thereon six parallel trace lines that extend in the longitudinal or feed direction of the paper. One trace line represents time, and the remaining lines the zero ordinates for five different voltage faults. Whenever a fault is detected, the associated trace line widens to print a horizontal bar. When a power failure occurs and is thereafter restored, a header (indica line) is printed on the paper before printing of the trace lines resumes. The monitor and printer, if desired, may be operated independently of each other.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1987Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Mendon Electronics CorporationInventor: Gerald R. Patent number: 4862288Abstract: When a data control portion 300 receives a request for changing a density of picture elements from an external data processing apparatus, a printing control portion 200 defers exposure if it is before start of exposure, until a rotating speed of a polygon mirror 34 becomes constant. If exposure is being performed, the printing control portion 200 defers change of the density of picture elements until the exposure is completed. If printing is being performed in response to a printing request received till then, the printing control portion 200 defers change of the density of the picture elements until the printing is completed. In addition, the printing control portion 200 automatically sets an initial density value of picture elements designated by a printing density initialization switch 237, when power supply is turned on.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1987Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Minolta Camera Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Makoto Sekiya

Patent number: 4862125Abstract: Electrical switches and circuit breakers in which the contacts and operating mechanism are enclosed within an insulating housing by an insulating cover and which have an elongated operating handle extending through an elongated slot in the cover have an enlarged terminal portion of the operating handle which is wider than the slot to prevent removal of the cover except in positions of the handle at which the electrical contacts are open and the slot is wider than the terminal portion of the handle. Preferably, this is only the OFF position of the switch or breaker, however, in circuit breakers with a notch at the trip position to expose indicia indicating the breaker operating condition, a transverse pin through the operating handle permitting removal of the cover only with the operating handle in the trip position, provides an economical backfit.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1988Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Alfred E. Patent number: 4862135Abstract: A resistor device for use with electrostatic particle accelerators includes a resistor element positioned within a tubular housing having a fixed end cap at one end thereof and a movable end cap at the other end thereof. The tubular housing, fixed end cap, and movable end cap serve as an electromagnetic field for the resistor element. Conductive disks engage opposite ends of the resistor element and concentrically position the resistor element within the tubular housing. Helical springs engage the conductive disks and the end caps to yieldably support the movable end caps and resistor element for yieldable axial movement relative to the tubular housing. An annular conducting ring is secured to the tubular housing and is spaced radially from the movable end cap and cooperates with the latter to define an annular spark gap.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1988Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Sysmed, Inc.Inventor: John H. Patent number: 4862136Abstract: A programmable resistor network and a method for forming and programming same. The network includes a plurality of independent programmable resistor arrays in a standard DIP semiconductor package. Each resistor array includes a plurality of parallel connected resistor elements capable of being selectively deleted from the array of applying a programming flow of electricity across a first and second DIP pin. The flow of electricity is of a value sufficient to progressively fuse successive array resistors. The total array resistance value progressively increases as array resistors are selectively deleted. Typically an increasing flow of electricity is applied across the array terminals until the desired array resistance value is obtained. The arrays may be manufactured in such a way that the incremental value between successive resistive elements causes the total array resistance value to increase in any desired manner, e.g. geometrically, arithmetically, and logarithmically.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1983Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Inventor: John M.
