    Abstract: An active stairwell compensation system includes air injection points at different elevations in a stairwell; a fan for providing airflow to the air injection points; sensors; air injection dampers; and a controller in data communication with the fan, the sensors, and the air injection dampers. At least some of the sensors are located inside the stairwell, and at least some of the sensors are located outside the stairwell. A respective air injection damper is located between each air injection point and the fan. The controller has programming to utilize data from the sensors to adjust an amount of air provided by the fan and independently adjust the air injection dampers to maintain a desirable amount of air pressure at the air injection points. The desirable amount of air pressure is selected to prevent smoke from entering the stairwell while allowing stairwell doors to open for egress.

    Abstract: A door-locking device for a self-cleaning oven includes a support configured to be fixed to a frame of the oven. A main slider is movable relative to the support along a longitudinal rectilinear direction, and is configured to be pushed elastically towards an extracted position and pushed by the door of the oven towards a retracted position. A locking arm is coupled to the support around an articulation axis perpendicular to the longitudinal rectilinear direction and oscillates around the articulation axis between an unlocked position and a locked position. A transmission mechanism connects the locking arm to the main slider and is arranged to swing the locking arm from the unlocked position to the locked position and vice versa via movement of the main slider from the extracted position to the retracted position, and vice versa. An electromagnetic switch includes an electromagnet that drives a movable member associated with a locking pin arranged to lock the main slider in the retracted position.

    Abstract: A method which eliminates the need to remove environmentally-unsafe hydrochloro-fluorocarbons from an air conditioning system prior to the removal of the system's evaporator coil for cleaning is disclosed. The method also eliminates the cutting and soldering steps which must be conducted on the air conditioner system's copper refrigerant transport lines every time an evaporator coil is now removed for cleaning. The method utilizes a reversibly separable ball valve assembly unit affixed to each of the AC system's two refrigerant transport lines to achieve removal of refrigerant from the evaporator coil and its subsequent safe storage within other components of the air-conditioning system until the cleaned evaporator coil is reinstalled and the refrigerant's flow into and out of the cleaned evaporator is restored according to the disclosed method.

Installing the diffusing vent assembly may include engaging the ductwork fixation channel with a supply duct, inserting the diffusing head into the diffuser base, and securing the diffusing head and the diffuser base using the complimentary rotational securement members.
