  • Patent number: 4932446
Abstract: Pressure filling of an elevated liquid reservoir from a blind servicing location is successfully accomplished by a gravity drain extending from a reservoir vent overfill to the servicing location. A dust cap serves to cover the pressure fill hardware fitting and to provide a primary seal for the drain. A second drain seal is closed by engine operating pressure and opened by application of the pressure fill hardware fitting.

  • Patent number: 4930167
Abstract: A one-piece toilet bowl and rim capable of generating superior vortex water flushing action is disclosed. Metering of the volume, flow rate, and directional orientation of the flushing water into, and within the internal rim cavity is developed by two flow passages of different diameters. The angular orientation of the flow passages generates fluid flow within the rim cavity in opposite directions. The flushing water flowing within the rim cavity is angularly discharged through a continuously slotted discharge orifice circumferentially located along the underside of the rim. The angularly discharged flushing water generates superior vortex flushing action within the toilet bowl.

  • Patent number: 4928326
Abstract: A vacuum sewer arrangement comprises a valve controlled air inlet duct to let air into the vacuum sewer at a position downstream of the sewer valve. The sewer valve can then be closed immediately after the sewage has passed into the vacuum sewer, because the air required for the sewage transport is received form the air inlet duct. hence, the amount of air that flows into the sewer through the sewer valve when the sewer valve opens is small, and when the sewer valve is closed, air flows through the air inlet duct into the sewer, which reduces the pressure difference acting on the sewer valve. These measures tend to considerably reduce the noise level. In the case of a vacuum toilet sewer arrangement, the noise level can be further reduced by providing the toilet bowl with a lid forming a substantially airight and soundproof closure at the top of the bowl.

  • Patent number: 4928325
Abstract: A toilet seat structure capable of automatically feeding a seat covering paper onto the toilet seat has a paper feeding mechanism and a paper cutting mechanism operated by an electronic control unit. A specified length of paper appropriate for covering the toilet seat is automatically and accurately fed and positioned on the toilet seat. After use, the seat covering paper can automatically be cut off. For lavatories at public sites in particular, since the user can operate the apparatus to paper feed from a functional casing to provide a new seat covering paper on the toilet seat for each use, the user can be assured of a clean toilet seat. Also, since the seat covering paper is held immovably on the toilet seat, the use of the paper-covered toilet is made easier.

  • Patent number: 4924533
Abstract: A mounting assembly to couple a water tank to a water closet is disclosed. The mounting assembly includes a threaded bolt, tubular elastomeric seal member and fastening means. The elastomeric member has centering ribs formed around its outer surface, a flanged head at one end and the other end is bifurcated. When the bolt is inserted therethrough, the elastomeric member expands in the tank mounting opening and the bifurcated end diverges to form a pair of latching tabs to prevent removal of the elastomeric seal member and bolt from the tank mounting opening.

  • Patent number: 4922973
Abstract: A Freon type refrigerant, which is vented from a heat exchange system, such as an air-conditioner, is transferred directly from the exhaust valve of the heat exchange system through a tube to a collecting cylinder or tank. The outer metal side walls of the collecting tank are wrapped with a chemically activatable cold wrap. The cold wrap may, for example, contain therein a rupturable pouch having a chemical blend of ammonium nitrate and urea to isolate same from water within the cold wrap. Upon rupturing of the pouch, the chemical blend is dissolved in the water and an endothermic reaction is initiated. As a result, the heat within the tank is absorbed therefrom by the cold wrap causing the temperature and pressure inside of the tank to drop. This permits substantially all of the refrigerant in the heat exchange system to be transferred into the chilled tank in a condensed or liquid state.

  • Patent number: 4916764
Abstract: A bathtub shower curtain assembly includes a supporting frame structure designed to replace conventional shower door or curtain constructions associated with a bathtub. One end of the frame structure includes a vertically positioned case in which a rolled, retractable shower curtain is mounted, while a leading edge of the curtain extends outwardly from the case with a handle being attached to a midportion of the extending edge. Top and bottom edges of the curtain are retained in guide tracks forming a part of the supporting structure, so that the curtain may be drawn across the bathtub to form an enclosure in the manner of a conventional shower curtain. When not in use, the shower curtain may be retracted into the case in a manner similar to a window shade, while wipers are provided on opposite sides of the case opening to remove water and dirt from the curtain during its retraction.

  • Patent number: 4907301
Abstract: A method and associated reusable apparatus providing for efficiently, but removably mounting a toilet bowl base to the flange of a soil pipe projecting through the floor and which uses steps requiring no skills, tools or judgment to accomplish. A pre-existing color matched decorative cover cap is employed. An eccentric c-shaped resilient retaining clamp is placed in alignment with an aperture in the soil type flange, a prethreaded headless mounting stud is inserted and manually adjusted to an appropriate height to prevent interference with the pre-existing cover cap and to compensate for uncertain height of the soil pipe flange above the floor surface, the toilet bowl base is placed in position, is fastened using a wing nut which is hand tightened to avoid excessive axial pressure that would crack the toilet bowl base, and the pre-existing cover cap is then placed thereover.
