Patent number: 5040607Abstract: A subsea structure for oil well drilling, completion and production and specially designed for utilization in water depths of 1,000 m or more. The structure includes a template having radially extending structures and which extends radially from a central foundation, on top of which the template shall be set and where a central manifold for controlling the production of wells is located. Each structure arm is provided in its extremity with an opening for adaptation of a guide-base for well drilling, and one of the arms of the template (1) is intended to receive connectors (6) of export and well control lines.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1989Date of Patent: August 20, 1991Assignee: Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. - PETROBRASInventors: Andre L. Cordeiro, Helio L. M. Falcao, Renato S. Rodrigues, Samir P. Awad

Patent number: 4976032Abstract: An implement for hand picking citrus fruit and the like includes an elongated cutter having first and second opposed blades suitable for attachment, e.g., by means of a glove, with the first blade disposed along a finger of a picker's hand and the second, opposed blade disposed along a second, adjacent finger of the picker's hand. The cutter defines a first, open outer end for passage of a citrus fruit stem between the blades, and a second, relatively more closed inner end. A method for picking fruit using the implement of the invention is also described.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1989Date of Patent: December 11, 1990Assignee: Chiquita Brands, Inc.Inventor: Anthony D. Patent number: 4976658Abstract: A transmission wheel (12) is shiftable in position radially relative to a driven member such as a bicycle wheel. A driving force is imposed to the transmission wheel (12). This driving force rotates the transmission wheel (12) and the rotational force is transmitted by drive spokes (106) from the transmission wheel (12) to a hub portion of a driven member. The radial adjustment of the transmission wheel (12) relative to the driven member changes the length of a torque arm (106, 130) which in turn changes the drive speed of the driven member. The torque arm length is the radial distance between the rotational axis (40) of the driven member and the location of drive force application onto the transmission wheel (12).Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1989Date of Patent: December 11, 1990Inventor: James E. Patent number: 4972904Abstract: A system for injecting chemicals into a geothermal well near the bottom of the well bore for optimum efficiency. The system includes a spool assembly with a master valve for control of the geothermal flow and a secondary outlet formed of an angle to permit the chemical injection chamber to be lowered into the well. The secondary outlet is attached to the main spool in such a way as to allow internal thermal expansion while permitting the chemical injection chamber to be fed by capillary tube to the bottom of the well bore. The chemical injection device includes an injection chamber through which the chemical is disbursed and a segmented sinker bar to provide the necessary weight to carry the chamber to the bottom of the well against the geothermal well flow. An annular seal assembly in the spool prevents leaking by being pressure energized by the geothermal production fluid. As a result, production can continue during the chemical injection process.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1989Date of Patent: November 27, 1990Assignee: Foster Oilfield Equipment Co.Inventor: William L. Patent number: 4967545Abstract: A mobile harvester of leafy produce has two harvesting sections with a cutter located forwardly for severing the produce from the ground. A continuous belt having a large number of openings moves in a closed path presenting an upwardly facing surface. A low pressure plenum underneath the belt provides a vacuum attraction to the belt upwardly facing for picking up severed produce. An enclosure ove the belt protects against wind removal of produce leaves from the belt. The two harvesting sections are individually adjustable for proper height above the ground.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1989Date of Patent: November 6, 1990Assignee: Dalgety Produce, Inc.Inventors: Rich Fischer, Michael T. Jones

Patent number: 4951744Abstract: A perforating gun includes a base strip having an angular cross section, the base strip being a single unitary structure and essentially comprising at least two longitudinally disposed surfaces, a first surface and a second surface, a first plurality of capsule charges being connected to the first surface and a second plurality of capsule charges being connected to the second surface and interleaved with the first plurality of capsule charges, thereby phasing the capsule charges in the perforating gun. Since the gun utilizes capsule charges, good penetration into the formation is achieved. Due to the cross sectional configuration of the base strip, the phased capsule charges, when mounted on the strip, will easily fit within a tubing string previously used by non-phased capsule charge perforating guns.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1989Date of Patent: August 28, 1990Assignee: Schlumberger Technology CorporationInventor: Gary L. Patent number: 4911244Abstract: An improved wellhead casing hanger for suspension of successive casing strings with particularly small annular spacings having an adapter sleeve of double wall construction which is utilized with a load bearing shoulder on the inside of the inner member for receiving a conventional expanding type hanger, with the annulus between the inner and outer walls providing an improved fluid return path without restricting the bore of the sleeve, packoff for sealing the annulus at the appropriate time and an installation tool.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1989Date of Patent: March 27, 1990Assignee: Cameron Iron Works USA, Inc.Inventor: Joseph H.
