A guide rod (20) is located both inferiorly and superiorly to connect the main bodies (12) along with an adjusting rod (22) which is equidistantly located between guide rods (20). A compression spring (24) is secured around the perimeter of each guide rod (20). An adjusting knob (38) is secured to one end of adjusting rod (22), lateral to main body (12). A securing pin (36) and a support guide (34) allow for easy adjustment of head support (16). A strap (26) and a hook (30) allow the device to be attached to a force application device. A hinge (32) secures occipital support (14) to main body.

    Abstract: A cervical collar assembly to immobilize the neck and head of a user. The front and back members are provided with a plurality of elongated slits which permit the shell member to conform to the neck and head areas of the user. Further, the front member is provided with opposing upwardly extending tab members to engage the mandibula of a user's jaw to aid in the immobilization of the neck and head of the user. The hernial truss is formed with a front member applied to the abdominal area of the patent, a rear member applied to the back of the patient, left and right waistbands attached to the front member, left and right crotch bands attached to the rear member, and a pressing pad attached to the inside of the front member. A lower portion of the rear member is divided to left and right by an upward notch. The front and rear members are fitted with the patient body by the waistbands and the crotch bands, and each crotch band connects the rear member and the front member through the bottom of the patient to press the pressing pad against the herniated abdominal area.

    Abstract: A splint (10) worn by a sufferer of carpal tunnel syndrome. A first sleeve (12) fits over the person's hand (H) and extends up their arm (A) past their wrist (W). This sleeve is worn during non-working portions of the person's day and includes a support (14) formed in the palm portion of the sleeve to support the carpal tunnel and relieve pressure on the median nerve passing through it. This alleviates pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome. A second sleeve (22) also fits over the person's hand and extends up their arm past their wrist. This second sleeve, which is also worn during non-working portions of the day, extends further up the person's arm than the first sleeve. A support (24) of this second sleeve extends along the back of the person's hand to also relieve pressure on the median nerve and alleviate the pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome.

The member is of high aspect ratio and is held in position by a three strap system which includes a lower thumb strap, a middle palm strap and an upper palm strap immediately below the fingers. Each strap further includes a two-component hook and pile fastener so as to avoid critical registration of holes and tongs. The pile component of the fastener is carried along the backside of each strap and each strap terminates with a free-end carrying the hook component of the fastener at the tip of the inside surface of each strap.
