  • Patent number: 9893852
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for clear channel assessments (CCAs) on multiple component carriers transmitted using an unlicensed or shared spectrum. A set of component carriers may be identified for transmission of communications signals on the unlicensed or shared spectrum, and a CCA for one component carrier of the set may be staggered to occur at a different time than a CCA for a different component carrier of the setoff component carriers. The staggering of CCAs may allow for CCA to be performed at different times for different component carriers, thus increasing opportunities to gain channel access in the unlicensed or shared spectrum.

  • Patent number: 9858104
Abstract: A network switch includes ports, memory, and a processor. The switch is operable to switch packets of a layer 2 network, and the memory is for storing a tunneling engine computer program. The processor executes the tunneling engine, where the processor identifies a second switch operable to switch layer-2 network packets. The identification includes detecting that the second switch is connected to the network switch over a layer 3 connection, and the tunneling engine creates a tunnel over the layer 3 connection between the switches to exchange layer-2 packets. The tunnels encapsulates and decapsulates the packets that are exchanged between the switches. When the processor determines that a packet from a first node to a second node that is connected to the second switch, the processor creates an encapsulation flow on the network switch to encapsulate packets from the first node to the second node over the tunnel.

  • Patent number: 9860168
Abstract: A packet processor may implement network packet modification. A network packet may be received at a packet processor. A packet header modification may be identified for the network packet. The packet processor may access a memory to traverse a dependency graph for the packet header modification to obtain an operation to apply the packet header modification and dependent operations to update fields in the packet header to be changed as a result of the packet header modification. The dependency graph may have been stored in the memory prior to receiving the network packet. The obtained operations may be performed according to the traversal of the dependency graph. The modified packet may then be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 9847846
Abstract: The audio outputs 29 of each of a plurality of telecommunications terminals in a packet switched system are synchronized by having each terminal transmit a stream of packets whose rate, and therefore duration is determined according to a clock generator 25, and is thus indicative of the rate at which the terminal is generating its audio output. The signals from each terminal are transmitted to a common server. For each terminal, the server uses a master dock to compare the duration of the packet stream with an expected duration, and calculates an offset value which is returned to the respective terminal. Each terminal stores the offset value it receives (20) and uses it to adjust the output of its clock generator 25 so that its operations can be synchronized to the server. This allows all the terminals' digital-to-analog conversion processes to be synchronized such that all their analog outputs are coordinated, allowing co-located acoustic outputs to be synchronous.

  • Patent number: 9847854
Abstract: A method for configuring an acknowledgement for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ), and a user equipment therefore are discussed. The method according to one embodiment includes receiving downlink data through one of first and second downlink component carriers; and determining a resource used for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The resource used for the PUCCH is determined based on a downlink component carrier. If downlink data is received through the first downlink component carrier, the resource used for the PUCCH is determined by using a control channel element (CCE) of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). If the downlink data is received through the second downlink component carrier, the resource used for the PUCCH is determined by using a radio resource control (RRC) message. The method according to the embodiment further includes transmitting an acknowledgement (ACK)/negative-acknowledgement (NACK) signal for the downlink data using the resource used for the PUCCH.

  • Patent number: 9838314
Abstract: In one embodiment, contextual service mobility in an enterprise fabric network environment (e.g., overlay and underlay networks) provides for moving of the location of a service being applied to packets with minimal updates to the mapping database. The mapping database is used to convert addresses of the overlay network to physical network and service addresses. The mapping database provides contextual lookup operations on the same destination address of a packet being forwarded in the overlay network to provide different results. The contextual lookup operations provide for a packet to be forwarded to a service node or its intended destination depending on the current context. In one embodiment, the enterprise fabric network uses Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP), a network architecture and set of protocols that uses different overlay and underlay namespaces and a distributed mapping database for converting an overlay address to an underlay address.
