  • Patent number: 9560670
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of managing coexisting packet streams (100, 110) in a wireless communication system, and a corresponding controller and a mobile terminal. A first packet stream (110) of the coexisting packet streams (100, 110) requires transmission resources of the wireless communication system at fixed time intervals, and a second packet stream (100) of the coexisting packet streams (100, 110) requires transmission resources of the wireless communication system at dynamically determined time intervals. A schedule defining allocations of transmission resources for the first packet stream (110) is set up. A request for an initial grant of transmission resources for a transmission of a data packet (101) of the second packet stream (100) is issued.

  • Patent number: 9515798
Abstract: If a PDCCH is multiplexed with data in a DMRS based manner, an E-PDCCH may be allocated by frequency-first mapping in reverse time order, starting from an OFDM symbol carrying the last DMRS in the first slot of a PRB allocated to a UE. For example, the E-PDCCH may be mapped to a resource region in the manner illustrated in FIG. 27. For reference, various signals may mapped to a resource region of a subframe in following manner: (1) CRSs or DMRSs may be mapped to the resource region of the subframe, (2) a legacy PDCCH may be mapped to the resource region, and then (3) the E-PDCCH may be mapped to the remaining region.

  • Patent number: 9496918
Abstract: Variable bandwidth assignment and frequency hopping are employed to make efficient use of radio resources. Variable bandwidth assignment is achieved by dynamically allocating different numbers of subcarriers to different mobile terminals depending on their instantaneous channel conditions. The frequency hopping patterns are determined “on-the-fly” based on the current bandwidth assignments. The bandwidth assignments and frequency hopping patterns are signaled to the mobile terminals in a scheduling grant.

  • Patent number: 9313771
Abstract: A method and device for allocating a channel in a decentralized trunked radio communication system enables efficient channel utilization. The method includes scanning at a first subscriber unit a plurality of channels to determine whether a call of interest to a first subscriber unit is active in the system (step 410). The plurality of channels is then scanned at the first subscriber unit to identify a first channel that is clear in the plurality of channels after determining that there is no call of interest to the first subscriber unit active in the system (step 415). The first subscriber unit is then tuned to the first channel that is clear (step 420).

  • Patent number: 9300540
Abstract: A Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) network provides a multicast traceroute using network identifiers such as IP addresses for the source and destination (multicast group). The network identifiers, which are based on layer 3 (IP) designations of the traced multicast group, are mapped to a network identifier of the multicast group (corresponding to a layer 2, or MAC address) and an associated Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) which is used to transport the packets belonging to the multicast flow. Therefore, an operator issuing the traceroute command need not be familiar with the layer 2 concepts of the network, but rather need only supply the layer 3 (IP address) designations of the concerned entities.
