  • Patent number: 11644525
Abstract: A location server collects from access points at known locations in a venue, which is represented by grid locations defined by parameters accessible to the location server, (i) ultra wideband (UWB) location measurements for a UWB location technology based on UWB transmissions from mobile devices in the venue, and (ii) non-UWB location measurements for non-UWB location technologies based on non-UWB transmissions from the mobile devices. The location server associates the non-UWB location measurements for the non-UWB location technologies with the grid locations, using the UWB location measurements as reference measurements. The location server populates location calibration records for the grid locations of the venue with the non-UWB location measurements associated with the grid locations. The location server calibrates the non-UWB location technologies at the grid locations based on the non-UWB location measurements in the location calibration records associated with the grid locations.

  • Patent number: 11638141
Abstract: A permissioned blockchain can be a decentralized data store that maintains information indicating whether user equipment (UE) is SIM locked and/or should be disabled. A UE can access the blockchain during boot up to determine if it should be disabled and not booted into a normal operating environment, and/or whether it is SIM locked to a particular carrier. Authorized entities, such as carriers and UE manufacturers, can update the blockchain to indicate that certain UEs should be disabled, are SIM locked, are not SIM locked, and/or whether it is permissible to remove SIM locks from those UEs.

  • Patent number: 11632456
Abstract: Described are systems and methods that detect a call connection of a call (e.g., telephone call, social media call, etc.) between a first device of a user, such as a cellular phone, and a device of another person with which the user is to interact via the call. Upon detection of the call connection, another device of the user (e.g., wearable) records audio of the environment to detect speech output by the user during the call. The speech is then processed to determine sentiment(s) of the user during the call. The determined sentiment(s) of the user may then be presented to the user to aid the user in understanding how the speech of the user is perceived by others.

  • Patent number: 11602005
Abstract: An improved cellular network architecture enables the distribution of Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive state to devices in a core network. A mobility manager receives subscription requests from core network devices requesting notification of user equipment (UE) transitions to RRC Inactive states. Upon receiving an RRC transition report for a UE that indicates a transition to an RRC Inactive state, the mobility manager publishes an event including data representing the RRC inactive state and a UE identifier. Subscribing network elements receive this event and can adjust operations accordingly, including temporarily suspending operations until a further RRC state change.

  • Patent number: 11589211
Abstract: A network function performs a method to identify an invalid subscription concealed identifier, SUCI. When the network function receives a message containing a SUCI, it determines a size of the SUCI contained in the received message, and also determines an expected size of the SUCI in the received message. The network function then determines whether the size of the SUCI contained in the received message satisfies a criterion associated with the expected size. If the size of the SUCI contained in the received message does not satisfy the criterion associated with the expected size, the network function determines that the SUCI in the received message is invalid, and it rejects the SUCI in the received message if it is determined to be invalid.

  • Patent number: 11576153
Abstract: Disclosed are a device-to-device (D2D) communication method and a D2D device, the method comprising: a first D2D device generates a data packet, the data packet being a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS/SPT) service data packet, the data packet comprising first scheduling assignment (SA) information, the first SA information comprising SPS/SPT service cycle information; the first D2D device sends the data packet to a second D2D device. The first D2D device carries the SPS/SPT service cycle information in the SA information so that the second D2D device learns a resource usage situation in order to implement SPS/SPT service transmission with autonomous resource selection by the second D2D device, thereby preventing a plurality of D2D devices from simultaneously transmitting SPS/SPT service data on the same resources and thus producing conflicts.

  • Patent number: 11576154
Abstract: A Radio Access Network node implements a radio air interface for delivering communications with User Equipments (UEs). The functions of the RAN node are split between a Central Unit (CU) and Distributed Units (DUs). The CU is disaggregated into a CU-CP (CU-Control Plane) entity and into a first CU-UP (CU-User Plane) entity, both entities being connected to a core network, and into at least one second CU-UP entity, connected to the CU-CP entity and to at least one DU. User data associated with a specific application is transferred between the specific application executed by one or more UEs and a specific application server hosted by a MEC platform, via a given second CU-UP entity, without passing through any core network entity or function. In a claim, the air interface is a cellular base-station-to-device air interface or a cellular device-to-device air interface.

  • Patent number: 11576161
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support allocation of a group-based configured uplink resource for idle mode uplink transmissions. User equipments (UEs) may be grouped geographically and/or functionally and may have sidelink communications among themselves, and may be in an inactive mode or an idle mode. A base station may allocation one or multiple configured uplink resources to the group of UEs, where the base station may be aware of the group based on signaling from a UE of the group. The group of UEs may determine which UE of the group may use the allocated resources, and in which occasions. Based on the determination, one or more UEs of the group may transmit an uplink message to the base station using the configured uplink resource assigned to the group.
