Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate generally to a multipurpose smartphone device. More specifically, embodiments described herein disclose a smartphone that is capable of being used as a point-of-sale (POS) device.

Abstract: The present application provides a remote beverage dispensing system for filling a number of orders with one or more beverage selections. The remote beverage dispensing system may include a point-of-sale device for receiving the orders and a remote beverage dispenser for filling the orders. The remote beverage dispenser may include a point-of-sale order queue and a manual selection screen. The point-of-sale order queue may include the beverages selections in each of the number of orders.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for controlling at least one robot system. This includes offering control of a first robot to a first mobile application, indicating an available service offered by the first robot, and receiving instructions to perform the available service. This further includes delivering: (i) debris, (ii) dust, or (iii) cut grass to a stationary second garbage collection robot. A computing system maintains a device profile for the first robot, indicates the available service and a status of the first robot to the first mobile application, and is configured to update the first mobile application. The first robot is configured to drive while performing the available service and is controlled by at least one of: (i) a camera or (ii) a sensor, to avoid collision. The second robot is a stationary garbage collection robot configured to store the delivered debris, dust, or cut grass.

Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for configuring and implementing a loan repayment based on transactions output from a merchant POS terminal. In one example, the method may include receiving point-of-sale (POS) transactions from a merchant POS terminal, receiving, via an application programming interface (API), a request to allocate a portion of the POS transactions from the merchant POS terminal to a lender payment account, depositing the POS transactions received from the merchant POS terminal into a merchant payment account during a settlement process, and automatically triggering a payment transaction that pushes the portion of the POS transactions from the merchant payment account to the lender payment account.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for detecting events involving a user that occurred during a session in a facility, and performing a holistic, session-based analysis of the events to determine items taken by the user from the facility. An inventory management system may initially analyze the events to determine a hypothesis for a result of each respective event and a probability that the hypotheses are accurate. An initial listing of the items determined to be taken by the user may be generated along with probabilities that the items were taken. Upon determining that a probability an item was taken is lower than a threshold, the management system may select an algorithm to process an event in the session that is likely to resolve uncertainty in the initial listing. The management system may iteratively process events until a final listing represents the items taken by the user with an allowable probability.

Abstract: In some examples, a system and method for pairing a payment object reader with a point-of-sale (POS) terminal is described herein. The method includes determining, by a wireless transceiver, a first value of signal strength corresponding to a current position of the payment object reader and a second value of signal strength corresponding to a new position of the payment object reader. The POS terminal then identifies the first wireless device as an intended candidate for pairing with the second wireless device based on variation in signal strength from the first value of signal strength to the second value of signal strength. Accordingly, the POS terminal establishes a wireless communication channel between the POS terminal and the payment object reader device for exchange of information. Once paired, the payment object reader allows the POS terminal to accept payments from a customer.

Abstract: Method and systems for product inventory are described. In one embodiment, an inventory surface unit retains a plurality of products in an unordered state. An inventory identification unit acquires information for an orientation, and location of the plurality of products on the inventory surface unit. The inventory identification unit is disposed above the inventory surface unit. An inventory pick unit is adapted to pick a product among the plurality of products from the inventory surface unit based on the orientation and location acquired by the inventory identification unit. The inventory pick unit is disposed proximal the inventory surface unit, and the inventory pick unit is communicatively connected to the inventory identification unit. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a commerce transaction performed with a terminal reader for reading a card are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving transaction information for a merchant regarding a transaction involving the terminal reader without the terminal reader having an assigned terminal identifier (TID) that is used for transaction authorization and assigning the terminal reader a pre-allocated TID for the merchant as the assigned TID, where the pre-allocated TID is selected from a group of one or more pre-allocated available terminal IDs (TIDs) associated with the merchant, and using that pre-allocated TID to obtain authorization for the transaction.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to systems and methods for validating purchase of a product in a physical store. For the validation, a confirmation data for a payment for the product and a product Identification Detail (ID) associated with the product is received upon purchase of the product by a user in a physical store. Upon receiving the confirmation data and the product ID, an inventory database of the physical store is updated with the confirmation data and the product ID for the purchased product. The purchase is validated using the product ID and the updated inventory database when the user is exiting the physical store.

Abstract: An online shopping concierge system sorts a list of items to be picked in a warehouse by receiving data identifying a warehouse and items to be picked by a picker in the warehouse. The system retrieves a machine-learned model that predicts a next item of a picking sequence of items. The model was trained, using machine-learning, based on sets of data that each include a list of picked items, an identification of a warehouse from which the items were picked, and a sequence in which the items were picked. The system identifies an item to pick first and a plurality of remaining items. The system predicts, using the model, a next item to be picked based on the remaining items, the first item, and the warehouse. The system transmits data identifying the first item and the predicted next item to be picked to the picker in the warehouse.

Abstract: A system, method and computer readable medium for dynamically determining location-based rules affecting item sales at POS registers for a particular location and for distributing the location-based rules to the POS registers is discussed. A location-based ruleset of rules regulating sales of items at an individual store is created and transmitted to the store along with a rule group to item map file that maps rules and warnings to individual store items. A rules engine at the store provides updated item sale rules and warnings to POS registers based on the location-based ruleset and rule group to item map file. Embodiments thus provide an improved system for updating POS registers at different store locations with location-based rules specific to the store location.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system includes a processor(s) determining, based on obtaining data from the one or more sensors over the wireless communications connection, that individuals are within a given vicinity. The processor(s) queries personal computing devices associated with the individuals to determine an identity of each individual in the given vicinity. The processor(s) assigns a service provider(s) to a portion of the identified individuals. The processor(s) obtains preference information related to the portion and determines environmental information related to an environment experienced by the portion by locating at least one sensor within a predetermined distance of the portion, and communicating, over the wireless communications connection, with the at least one sensor. The processor(s) generate simulations for providing services to the portion that include temporal parameters and selects an optimal simulation.

For instance, a payment service may determine, based at least in part on transaction information, that a first customer conducted a first transaction at a first merchant followed a subsequent transaction at a second merchant. The payment service may further determine that a second customer conducted a second transaction at the first merchant followed by a subsequent transaction at a third merchant, Based on transaction information associated with the first transaction and the second transaction, the payment service may create a buyer profile including the first customer and second customer. Upon the payment service receiving a request to process a third transaction between the first merchant and the second customer, the payment service can generate a recommendation that the second customer conduct a subsequent transaction to the third transaction at the second merchant rather than the third merchant.

Abstract: A point-of-sale system is a dual-screen stand assembly that includes a merchant terminal and a consumer terminal. The merchant terminal and the consumer terminal can be mated together in a fixed position to form a single unitary stand, or can be separated from each other in a separated position with each terminal serving as its own separate stand. The merchant terminal supports a merchant computing device and is oriented in a merchant-facing direction. The consumer terminal is detachably mated to the merchant terminal and supports a consumer computing device that is oriented in a consumer-facing direction. The point-of-sale system also includes a card reader as part of the customer terminal to perform a payment. The card reader is configured to accepting swipe cards, chip cards or contactless (EMV or NFC) payments.
