Patent number: 11373039Abstract: In an approach for providing an enhancement to message check capabilities through an awareness of the message content, a processor processes a message that includes a non-textual part and a textual part. A processor identifies a content context of the non-textual part of the message. A processor identifies an intent and entity of the textual part of the message. A processor determines a potential mismatch between the content context of the non-textual part and the intent and entity of the textual part. A processor provides a suggested replacement for the potential mismatch.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2019Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ross Warren Judd, Sumit Patel, Thomas Edward Creamer

Patent number: 11361571Abstract: A language model is fine-tuned by extracting terminology terms from a text document. The method comprises identifying a text snippet, identifying candidate multi-word expressions using part of speech tags, and determining a specificity score value for each of the candidate multi-word expressions. Moreover, the method comprises determining a topic similarity score value for each of the candidate multi-word expressions, selecting remaining expressions from the candidate multi-word expressions using a function of a specificity value and a topic similarity value of each of the candidate multi-word expressions, adding a noun comprised in the text snippet to the remaining expressions depending on a correlation function, labeling the remaining multi-word expressions, and fine-tuning an existing pre-trained transformer-based language model using as training data the identified text snippet marked with the labeled remaining expressions.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2021Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Francesco Fusco, Peter Willem Jan Staar

Patent number: 11361159Abstract: Text can be encoded into DNA sequences. Each word from a document or other text sample can be encoded in a DNA sequence or DNA sequences and the DNA sequences can be stored for later retrieval. The DNA sequences can be stored digitally, or actual DNA molecules containing the sequences can be synthesized and stored. In one example, the encoding technique makes use of a polynomial function to transform words based on the Latin alphabet into k-mer DNA sequences of length k. Because the whole bits required for the DNA sequences are smaller than the actual strings of words, storing documents using DNA sequences may compress the documents relative to storing the same documents using other techniques. In at least one example, the mapping between words and DNA sequences is one-to-one and the collision ratio for the encoding is low.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2021Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventor: Changchuan Yin

Patent number: 11314944Abstract: Techniques are described related to prior context retrieval with an automated assistant. In various implementations, instance(s) of free-form natural language input received from a user during a human-to-computer dialog session between the user and an automated assistant may be used to generate a first dialog context. The first dialog context may include intent(s) and slot value(s) associated with the intent(s). Similar operations may be performed with additional inputs to generate a second dialog context that is semantically distinct from the first dialog context. When a command is received from the user to transition the automated assistant back to the first dialog context, natural language output may be generated that conveys at least one or more of the intents of the first dialog context and one or more of the slot values of the first dialog context. This natural language output may be presented to the user.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2018Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Justin Lewis, Scott Davies

Patent number: 11295073Abstract: A content generation computing system includes content generating application logic. The content generating application logic runs a content generation application to generate content. Content ingestion and transformation logic allows a user to identify spreadsheet content from a source spreadsheet document for ingestion into a different document that is being generated. The system automatically restructures the ingested spreadsheet content based upon the content generation application into which it is being ingested, and maintains a link from the ingested content to the source spreadsheet document and automatically refreshes the ingested content when the content in the source document, that is ingested, changes.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2018Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Ron Ben-Ishay, Oren Gordon, Tal Bouhadana, Lior Zilberstein, Daniel Hoter

Patent number: 11288451Abstract: As described herein, a system for expanding contractions in electronically stored text includes expanding contractions having only on expanded form. For remaining contractions, a grammar check is performed for all possible expanded forms to determine if an expanded form can be selected based on context and grammar rules. If an expanded form is not evident from the first two steps, all possible expanded forms of the remaining contractions are converted to a vector representation along with the original text. A Word Movers Distance (WMD) for each possible expansion is calculated using the vectors for each possible expansion and the original text. An expanded form is chosen without human intervention based on the grammar score alone or the WMD and the grammar score.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2019Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: VERINT AMERICAS INC.Inventor: Ian Beaver
