  • Patent number: 4850281
Abstract: A traction wheel turn for a power and free conveyor employs a single rotary unit to effect a complete, 180.degree. reversal of the course of the conveyor. A circular track component forms a part of the free track at the inside of the turn and is carried by the traction wheel and rotates therewith. The inside wheels of the free trollies transfer from a standard, straight track section to the circular component at the turn, are carried thereby through the turn, and are delivered to the next stationary track section at the end of the turn. The horizontal space occupied by the turn is therefore, no greater than the diameter of the traction wheel.

  • Patent number: 4820094
Abstract: A rope hook arrangement for a vehicle has a case fixed to the vehicle body and a movable member slidable rectilinearly in the case. A rope hook fixed to one end of the movable member can be projected from the vehicle body and retracted. A spring is disposed between the case and movable member so that the movable member is always urged outwardly. A latch lever is swingably mounted on the movable member, and first and second pins are fixed to the case. The first pin engages with the latch lever and holds the movable member in a middle position in which the rope hook is snugly retracted. If the movable member is pushed down to a depressed position by hand, and unhanded at that position, the first pin pushes the latch lever to a release position, so that the movable member is lifted up by the spring to a projected position in which the rope hook is projected from the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 4802623
Abstract: Modern D.C.-tractioned trains and track circuit signal systems as well as high load trains need a special track construction. A new concrete cross sleeper system is provided for high load and high velocity tracks as well as for urban rapid transit systems comprising rails and sleepers having center part, connected to bar shaped ends and having reinforcing means. On the bar shaped ends two rail seats for each rail are positioned having elastic, electrically non-conducting plastic pads. The rails are fastened onto the rail seat by special tension means clamping the foot of the rail and fixed into plugs in the sleepers. This feature allows a triple point fixing of the rail at each sleeper end. Tracks on asphalt pavement may be secured by anchor device of the general type as sold under the trademark NELSON.The new track construction decreases the intermittent load of the rail/sleeper system and avoids trouble in track circuit signal systems existing in normally used prestressed concrete sleepers (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 4787679
Abstract: A twin wheel rim assembly is disclosed for use with an axle having a hub with an outwardly extending lip adjacent its inner end. The entire wheel assembly includes a pair of substantially identical wheels each having a rim with an outwardly flared portion as well as a tubular and cylindrical spacer. The wheels and the spacer are coaxially positioned over the hub so that the outwardly flared circumferential portion of one wheel abuts against the outwardly extending lip of the hub and so that the spacer is sandwiched in between the wheel rims. The wheel spacer is unable to slip because it has affixed to it evenly spaced ribs between each pair of wheel spokes. Both ends of each rib abut between each pair of wheel spokes. The ribs on the inside of the spacer is the primary element which prevents wheel slippage. This element in conjunction with the serrated edges will prevent wheel slippage.
