Abstract: A radiation therapy patient couch top which provides optimal fields of treatment in a high-energy radiation therapy environment. In addition, the patient couch top provides superior imaging qualities when used in a diagnostic imaging x-ray environment. All metal is eliminated from the treatment/imaging area. This ensures that no metal will be in the way of the radiation treatment beam and that no artifacting will occur when used with diagnostic imaging techniques such as Computed Tomography. By employing moveable fiber reinforced support beams, the main patient support structure can be positioned so that a minimum of electron generation will occur through Compton scattering. By allowing for a removable insert, the top patient surface can be optimized for treatment, diagnostic imaging or the addition of other useful features.

Abstract: A patient repositioning system for pulling a patient toward a head end of a bed includes a sheet, a mattress, and a housing which contains at least a part of a drive mechanism for operatively coupling to and pulling the sheet. The housing resides below a head end piece of the mattress, and is secured to the bed deck. The sheet pulling structure extends out of the housing via a slot and releasably attaches to the sheet, in a manner which has a low profile so as to pass through the slot. The sheet is longer than and wider than the mattress, and has beaded longitudinal side edges which are retained within rows of spaced retainers located on opposite sides of the mattress. During pulling of the sheet, the contoured shape of the housing facilitates movement of the sheet into the housing via the slot, even though the sheet width extends beyond the lateral edges of the mattress.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a patient support frame for supporting a patient support deck, the patient support frame having two sides extending between a head end and a foot end, and a support assembly for supporting the patient support frame and moving it relative to a floor surface. The support assembly comprises two leg assemblies pivotally coupled at their first upper end portions to the patient support frame and coupled at their lower end portion to floor engaging means. The sides of the patient support frame each comprise inverted substantially U-shaped channel elements having a substantially continuous upper surface, two substantially continuous side surfaces connected at their top edges to the upper surface, and a downward facing opening between the bottom edges of the two side surfaces.

Abstract: An air mattress including an inflatable compartment, strips, a connecting sheet and pillow strips is provided. The inflatable compartment includes a top wall, a bottom wall and a side wall surrounding peripheries of the top wall and the bottom wall. The strips are air-pervious and disposed in the inflatable compartment, wherein the strips are connected between the bottom wall and the top wall and located in a lying portion of the top wall. The connecting sheet is air-pervious and disposed in the inflatable compartment and facing a pillow portion of the top wall, wherein the connecting sheet is connected between the side wall and the strips adjacent to the pillow portion. The pillow strips are air-pervious and disposed in the inflatable compartment, wherein the pillow strips are connected between the connecting sheet and the pillow portion of the top wall.

Abstract: A playard having an easily and selectively attachable changing table platform including a saddle structure for resting upon upper perimeter frame members of the playard and secured from unintentional removal by a latching mechanism. The latching mechanism includes a connector that is secured to the playard upper perimeter frame members in a manner fixing the vertical separation of the connector and the frame member. The changing table includes a latching member moveable between catch and release positions that engages the connector as the changing table is moved into an operable position and prevents the changing table from being uplifted from the playard. The moveable latching member is biased toward the catch position. Movement toward the release position allows the changing table to be removed from the playard.

Abstract: A scarf hides the upper portion of a made bed from view. The scarf includes a portion of material having a length and a width, opposite first and second ends and opposite top and bottom edges. The length of the scarf is sufficient to cover pillows placed on a made bed of standard size, with the opposite first and second ends reaching opposite first and second edges of the bed. The width of the scarf is sufficient so that its top edge hides the top edge of a pillow on the made bed, and the bottom edge hides the bottom edge of the pillow on the made bed. The scarf may be used to cover up the top edge of a bed sheet, blanket or bedspread on a made bed so as to hide said top edge of the bed sheet, blanket or bedspread.

Abstract: A travel pillow includes a base panel having a plurality of segregated, independently-inflatable bladders therein for supporting a user's head and neck. Extending from each of two opposing side edges of the base panel is a fastening strap having a hook-and-loop fastener thereon. Accordingly, the fastening straps are secured about a passenger seat headrest or other support surface to provide a pillow for supporting a passenger's head that can be inflated to a desired firmness.

Abstract: Improved methods and apparatuses relating to installation of a sleeper mechanism into a frame of a sofa sleeper are disclosed. In one embodiment, initially the frame is aligned such that an open bottom portion of the frame is upright and facing outwardly. The sleeper mechanism is then advanced towards the open bottom portion and hook apertures on the brackets are engaged with upper fasteners on the frame. The sleeper mechanism is then swung inwardly towards the top portion of the frame until notches on the bracket are passed lower fasteners on the frame and then swung back towards the open bottom portion to engage the notches with the lower fasteners.

Abstract: The present embodiments provide a movable examination bed that includes a movable platform for supporting an object to be examined, a supporting body connected to the movable platform from below and used for supporting the movable platform, and a guide rail arranged underneath the movable platform. The examination bed also includes a transport mechanism that drives the supporting body such that the supporting body moves on the guide rail. The examination bed includes a connection mechanism securely connected to the transport mechanism, an electromagnet fixed to the connection mechanism and operable to magnetically attract the supporting body, and a controller operable to control the magnetic attraction between the electromagnet and the supporting body. The examination bed is operable to rapidly separate the movable platform from the transport mechanism in case of an emergency and return the movable platform to an original position after the emergency situation is over.

The suspension elements are arranged in a pattern wherein the longitudinal axis of each suspension element in the array is positioned at a right angle or parallel to the longitudinal axes of the adjacent suspension elements. The music pillow includes a body, a pillow core defining a first receiving cavity corresponding to a users' head, and a music player device. The body includes a first base, and two sidewalls extending from two opposite sides of the first base. Two free ends of the two sidewalls face each other to define a body opening therebetween. The first base and the two sidewalls cooperatively define a receiving space. The pillow core is received in the receiving space, while the first receiving cavity is communicated with the body opening. The music player device includes two speakers positioned on the sidewalls respectively and a playing unit positioned in the first base. The speakers are electrically connected to the playing unit.

Abstract: A usable stuffable pillow top article formed into shape out of a wearable garment, and transformable back into the wearable garment, is disclosed. The pillow top includes removable joining means. The removable joining means are removed by user when needed, to transform the pillow top back into the wearable garment. The removable joining means define the shape of the pillow top. Optionally, the removable joining means include a removable stitch.

Abstract: A child enclosure apparatus that includes a hub assembly, a base assembly having four base legs in an X-shaped configuration, a side structure having four side posts, an upper assembly having four pairs of upper arms with each pair connected with medial latch connectors, lower corner assemblies, each having a pair of plates that are pivotally mounted to a side post and a pair of base legs, upper corner assemblies, each having two pair of plates that are configured at a right angle to each other, and cables extending from the base assemblies, through the side posts and being connected to the upper arms and to the latch connectors. The enclosure apparatus is operated by linear movement of the hub assembly, either by a motor assembly or manually, to cause simultaneous movement of the base legs, the upper arms and the latch connectors between opened and folded positions by tensioning the cables.

A scissor-lift assembly is provided to raise and lower the examination table. The examination table further includes a storage pocket located beneath the backrest. The storage pocket and its contents are concealed when the backrest is lowered and are accessible when the backrest is inclined.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a pillow is constructed of a pillow body having a top portion, a middle portion, and a bottom portion. The top portion has a curved end and two curved sides that are generally parallel to each other. The middle portion is generally cylindrical in geometry. The bottom portion includes an enlarged section that flares outward from the middle portion. The bottom portion may also include a curved central section and narrow end section having a curved end.

Abstract: A support for the head of a patient lying in a generally prone position. The support features a tray adapted for support on an underlying operating table surface. A plurality of pins projecting from an engagement with the tray are positioned to engage and suspend either a cushion directly or a cushion engaged in a casing. The pins may be adjusted to raise or lower the engaged cushion or casing. A mirror is also provided to view a patient's eyes through slots in the cushion and casing engaged over a patient's face.
