Patent number: 4711441Abstract: A controller controlling the dispensing of paper currency including a microprocessor for controlling motors which feed a predetermined mix of paper currency from each dispensing device to a common acceleration device which advances bills to an output stacker. Each individual dispensing device dispenses the proper number of bills to the acceleration device. Apparatus multiplexes the control signals to the stepper motor. After the bills have been dispensed, the stepper motor is halted, and a home positioning sensor determines if the stepper motor has been halted in the proper position. Sensors provided at spaced intervals along the common acceleration device determine if bills have reached the acceleration device. The dispensing operation is repeated if bills do not reach the sensor. The sensors perform the dual function of sensing advancement of a bill and detecting overlapping or multiple fed bills. The adaptive technique compensates for changes in the sensor such as component aging and dust accumulation.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1986Date of Patent: December 8, 1987Assignee: Brandt, Inc.Inventor: Lawrence D. Patent number: 4691842Abstract: A process, apparatus, and system are provided for preserving and dispensing wine from a bottle or other container. The process involves directing a chemically inert gas under pressure from a reservoir to a bottle containing a wine. The pressure of the gas is reduced prior to its introduction into the bottle. The bottle is positioned generally vertically within a hermetically and thermally sealed enclosure. A gas flow line enters the bottle and has a first end connected to a gas source and a second end which terminates within the bottle between a bottle plug and the contained liquid. By passing the gas into the bottle, liquid within the bottle is forced through an end of a second line which is positioned in the wine to a second end of the line positioned on the exterior of the bottle. The flow of wine is caused by the introduction of gas under pressure into the interior of the bottle between the bottle plug and the wine.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1985Date of Patent: September 8, 1987Inventor: Jacques Foures
