  • Patent number: 4995300
Abstract: A lathe is provided for generating surfaces on work pieces and which includes a spindle for support of a work piece while it is revolved and against which a cutting tool is caused to traverse. A tool supporting turret assembly is provided to hold the cutting tool and effect its movement over a path under control of a cam assembly that includes a roller cam having a cylindrical surface. The turret assembly includes a cam follower having a V-shaped configuration which is caused to bear against the roller cam and to move with respect to the cam roller in a manner to result in forming of a surface on the work piece that is of a predetermined configuration through cooperative relative movement in the orientation of the cam follower with respect to the roller.

  • Patent number: 4896648
Abstract: On two opposite long narrow sides of a guide rail (1) of a chain saw for stone are arranged slide rails (3) of plastic. The slide rails (3) are located between the side walls (18, 19) of the guide rail. A link chain (2) consists of slide elements (6) and pairs of side guide members (7, 8) which are joined with each other through links (5). The slide elements (6) lie, on one side, on a surface (15) of the slide rail (3) and have, on the opposite side, cutting plates (4). In the slide rail (3) are arranged central coolant channels (13) which are connected with the coolant feed present in the core of the guide rail (1). The side guiding of the chain (2) is assured through the side guide members (7, 8) lying against the side surfaces (11, 12) of the slide rail (3).

  • Patent number: 4702731
Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism, associated with a thermoplastic bag making machine, for preparing a strip of thermoplastic to produce bags having the upper edges of the bag mouth formed in a sinusodial shape such that the peak of such shape is substantially equi-distant relative to the side edges of the bag. While the disclosed bag machine is of the type that advances the web strip incrementally, shaping of the web strip in the sinusodial shape occurs while a portion of the web strip is advanced at substantially constant velocity. A mechanism is provided for maintaining constant tension in the web despite the constant and intermittent feeding of the web.

  • Patent number: 3933186
Abstract: Disclosed is a protective housing unit for a liquid sample container. Basic components include an outer housing member and an inner housing member, which are defined by cylindrical sections. The outer member has an open top, an opening in the side wall, and a bottom which connects to a drain line. Positioned within the outer member is a plate for supporting a liquid sample container, such as a bottle. The inner member has an open top, an open bottom, and an opening in the side wall. Also, the inner member is adapted to fit down into the outer member and to rotate within the outer member. A liquid sample is directed into the container through a fill pipe, which connects to an inlet line and which extends through the top of the inner member and down into the container. During filling, the sample container can be completely enclosed by rotating the inner member to mis-align the side wall openings in each member.
