  • Patent number: 9839807
Abstract: An exercise machine, such as indoor cycle, including a multi-function wheel brake actuator. A braking force is induced on a wheel, such as through eddy currents or frictionally, by finely or coarsely adjusting the brake actuator. The brake actuator may thus include a knob whereby a user may finely adjust the braking force on the wheel and a lever to actuate interval settings whereby the brake actuator provides set positions of braking resistance. The exercise machine may further include a pop-pin assembly with an over-center cam mechanism to clamp members together. The pop-pin assembly also includes a fine adjustment to adjust the clamping force. So, for example, the seat stem may be clamped to the seat tube, or the handlebar stem clamped to the head tube, with a lever actuating the over center mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9833653
Abstract: An exercise and massage device utilizes a substantially spherical body having a central cavity that extends to opposite sides of the spherical body so that the cavity forms openings on opposite sides of the spherical body. The spherical body has an outer core of a first resilient hardness. A single rigid handle is positioned within the cavity. The openings of the cavity are sized and configured for allowing a user to access and manually grasp the handle through either opening. A resilient outer layer surrounds the outer core of the spherical body and provides an exterior surface of the spherical body. The resilient outer layer has a second resilient hardness that is less than that of the first resilient hardness of the outer core of the spherical body to provide a cushioning effect when the device is used in a massage mode. The device is weighted to provide a total weight of the device of from 2 lbs or more.

  • Patent number: 9802072
Abstract: An exercise apparatus and method for applying one or more lateral resistive loads to drive, swing and other phases to participants while performing complex motions at low or high speeds to condition one's body to better and more quickly perform physical movements at high speeds. Elastic members may be used to generate resistance emanating from a ground-based or vertically-positioned apparatus. The elastic members may connect to one or more body parts simultaneously. The apparatus may be mechanically designed to fully retract the elastic members into the apparatus to maintain resistance while participants are in close proximity to the apparatus. The apparatus provides a plurality of self-contained elastic members and provides participants the ability to alter the vertical and horizontal positions of each elastic member's emanation point from the apparatus. This provides ability to control applied resistance vectors between the attachment point on the participant and the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9764180
Abstract: A resistance system is configured to perform a resistance exercise for an axial base, such as a torso, and a longitudinal member, such as a leg and arm. The resistance exercise helps develop the longitudinal member and axial base by forcing the longitudinal member to pull against different, but constant tension forces, and also forcing the longitudinal member to maintain a proximal distance to the axial base. A short resistance member extends between a foundation mount on the axial base and an intermediate mount on the longitudinal member. A long resistance member extends from the foundation mount, joining with the intermediate mount, and attaching to a distal mount. The short resistance member generates greater tension force than the long resistance member when stretched. The multiple and independent connections made by resistance members create different tension forces for resistance exercises.
