  • Patent number: 11972739
Abstract: An image display method includes generating luminance data, applying a special filter to the luminance data, generating luminance setting data, generating gradation setting data, and controlling a backlight based on the luminance setting data and a liquid crystal panel based on the gradation setting data. The luminance data indicates a luminance value for each of light-emitting regions of the backlight based on a maximum gradation value among gradation values of image pixels of an input image that correspond to the light-emitting region. The special filter is applied such that, with respect to each light-emitting region, a difference of the luminance value thereof from the luminance values of neighboring light-emitting regions decreases, and the luminance setting data is generated therefrom. The gradation setting data sets a gradation value of each pixel of the liquid crystal panel, and is generated based on the input image and the luminance setting data.

  • Patent number: 11907446
Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display displays an electronic calendar and detects a hand-drawn input on the touch-sensitive display. The hand-drawn input extends over a vertical portion, less than all, of an area corresponding to a first day in the calendar. In response to detecting the hand-drawn input, the device displays, over the vertical portion of the first day, one or more graphics that correspond to the hand-drawn input. While displaying the graphics, the device detects an input that corresponds to a request to create an event in the electronic calendar. In response, the device creates, in the first day in the electronic calendar, an event with a start time and an end time, wherein the start time and the end time of the event are in accordance with the first day that the hand drawn input extends over.

  • Patent number: 11899833
Abstract: To interact with and manipulate a virtual object associated with an AR experience displayed on the screen of a user device (e.g., a smartphone), the user must first learn or discover the particular gestures that correspond with a given function, but such gestures may not always be intuitive. The user may find it difficult or bothersome to learn/remember the specific gesture(s) needed to achieve a specific result. Moreover, there are only a limited number of gestures that can be performed using the screen of the device, often leading to gestural conflict. In some embodiments, a dual-interface AR system may be implemented to provide an AR experience for a user. The dual-interface AR system utilizes two user interfaces and distributes the input gestures between them, allowing the user to dynamically switch between the two and to use the interface that may be most intuitive to the user.
