  • Patent number: 10252339
Abstract: To provide an apparatus and a method of producing fine particles capable of increasing evaporation efficiency of a material, increasing the production of fine particles and reducing costs by heating the inputted material by a gas heated by thermal plasma. A fine particle production apparatus includes a vacuum chamber, a material feeding device connected to the vacuum chamber and feeding material particles from a material feeding port into the vacuum chamber, electrodes arranged in the vacuum chamber for generating plasma and a collection device connected to the vacuum chamber and collecting fine particles, which produces the fine particles from the material by generating electric discharge inside the vacuum chamber, in which the collection device and the material feeding device are connected by piping, and a material heating and circulation device which heats the material by heat of a gas inside the chamber heated by the plasma through the piping is provided.

  • Patent number: 6764558
Abstract: The invention relates to a process to manufacture a clad strip, <1.5 mm thick, intended for the manufacture of brazed heat exchangers, comprising: casting of a plate made of core alloy composed as follows (o by weight): Si<0.8 Fe<0.8 Cu: 0.2-0.9 Mn: 0.7-1.5 Mg<0.4 Zn<0.2 Ti<0.1 other elements <0.05 each and <0.15 in total, the remainder aluminum, homogenization of said plate between 550 and 630° C. for at least one hour, cladding on one or two sides of said blank of a brazing aluminum alloy, preferentially containing 5 to 13% silicon, hot rolling followed by cold rolling of the plated blank to a thickness close to the final thickness, recrystallization annealing of the strip between 300 and 4000C., strain hardening of the annealed strip to obtain a permanent deformation between 2 and 10% and the final thickness.

  • Patent number: 5985059
Abstract: A method of controlling bulk absorption of atomic hydrogen and facilitating degassing of hydrogen from a metal or metal alloy workpiece during heat treatments in furnaces with ambient and/or moisture-laden atmospheres, the method includes exposing the surface of the workpiece to an acidified inorganic salt solution or dispersion, with the inorganic salt of the solution containing a transition metal cation and a sulfate, phosphate or nitrate anion, before being subjected to said heat-treatment, said transition metal cation having an equal or positive standard reduction half-reaction potential relative to metal or metal alloy workpiece, the workpiece exposed to the acidified transition metal sulfate, phosphate or nitrate salt is subjected to a heat treatment.

  • Patent number: 5833777
Abstract: A base plate for a suspension assembly in a hard disk drive wherein the base plate has a hardened flange and soft hub. The base plate is stamped in a progressive die in a sequence of forging and coining operations. The base plate is subsequently fully annealed to allow the material to yield at a low stress level so that the hub will create a press fit against the inner wall of an actuator arm boss hole. The base plate is passed through a secondary coining operation following the annealing step to work-harden the flange portion only. The result is a base plate with a flange portion that is hardened and a hub portion that is softer than the flange portion. The advantage is that the hardened flange is more resistant to deformation of a load beam welded thereto and the hub is more disposed to plastically deform and harden during swaging which is desirable for maintaining a press fit.
