Abstract: Techniques for selecting TV user interface (UI) transition characteristics are described. In accordance with various embodiments, a transition characteristics selection method is performed at a device (e.g., a cloud UI engine on a server) with one or more processors and a non-transitory memory. The UI engine receives a request for transitioning from a first screen to a second screen on a client device while in a real-time content presentation mode. In response to receiving the request and while in the real-time content presentation mode, the UI engine obtains one or more presentation conditions of the client device and selects one or more transition characteristics for transitioning from the first screen to the second screen based on costs associated with the one or more transition characteristics and the one or more presentation conditions.

Abstract: This application provides a video message generation method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a storage medium. The video message generation method includes: receiving a comment instruction for a video; determining a target frame corresponding to the comment instruction in the video; obtaining input comment content of the target frame; and generating a video message based on the video, the target frame, and the comment content of the target frame.

An example apparatus includes metrics generator circuitry to generate a first audience size for media accessed by first devices of a first media platform at a first level of aggregation, the first level of aggregation corresponding to the media accessed on a first television network and on a first website, generate a second audience size for the media accessed by the first devices of the first media platform at a second level of aggregation, the second level of aggregation corresponding to the media accessed on the first television network and accessed on the first website and a second website, comparator circuitry to compare the first audience size to the second audience size, adjustor circuitry to reduce the first audience size based on the second audience size, and audience determination circuitry to determine a total audience size.

Abstract: A system interconnects multiple client devices over a network. A local group of the client devices is located at a live event and a remote group is located remote from the live event. Each client device of the local group is a potential source of a live stream which, when rendered by another client device, causes display of a vantage point of the live event. The system dynamically updates a subscription list to include an indication of any client device of the local group that is actively live streaming and remove an indication of any client device of the local group that terminated live streaming. The system can enable selective access to any live streams of any client device of the updated subscription list and disable access to any live streams of any client device removed from the updated subscription list.

Abstract: A system and a method for automatically identifying key dialogues in media is disclosed herein. In the method disclosed herein, the key dialogues engine receives the media asset and extract transcript data and supplementary data. The key dialogues engine processes the transcript data into a plurality of transcript data elements and associate the transcript data elements with respective data elements selected from the supplementary data.

Abstract: A video playing control method includes obtaining a video playing policy, where the video playing policy determines information about a control algorithm used for video playing, determining according to the video playing policy, a target control algorithm used for video playing, downloading and playing a video by using the target control algorithm, collecting video playing quality indicator data in a process of downloading and playing the video, and uploading the quality indicator data to a server, to indicate the server to adjust the video playing policy based on the quality indicator data.

Abstract: A method for playing streaming media comprising a plurality of segments includes receiving a segment of the streaming media; wherein the segment carries information of a segment Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) corresponding to itself; checking a Media Presentation Description (MPD) to find what Period, AdaptationSet, and Representation the segment belongs to based on the segment URI; and calculating time information of the segment based on time information of the Period where the segment is located and a zero point of an MPD timeline of the MPD.

Further, there is described a concept pertaining an indication of a position of a region of interest.

In one example, an output unit adds additional information related to the BB packet to output the BB packet to a baseband (BB) packet after an error correction decoding process. The additional information includes at least one of a delimiter, a precision time protocol (PTP), or BB packet information. The BB packet information includes at least one of information indicating whether or not reception of the BB packet is stable, information indicating whether or not there is an error in the BB packet, a packet length of the BB packet, a relative physical layer pipe (PLP) ID of the BB packet, or an absolute PLPID of the BB packet.

Abstract: A cable television (CATV) entry adapter connects to a CATV network and serves as a hub in an In-Home Entertainment (IHE) network. IHE signals may be communicated between passive and active ports of an embodiment of the entry adapter through a pair of directional couplers which allow an IRE-enabled embedded multimedia terminal device (eMTA) at the passive port to communicate with multimedia devices of the IHE network connected to the active ports. An IHE frequency rejection filter is used in some embodiments to confine IHE signal to a single subscriber premise. In some embodiments a bidirectional IHE bandpass filter is used to enable IHE signals to pass between the passive and active ports of the CATV entry adapter.

In the present application, when a service request is received, it is determined whether there is service data corresponding to the service request in a buffer unit. If so, the corresponding service data in the buffer unit is directly sent to a client computer so as to reduce access pressure of a second service layer; if not, determining whether a request frequency associated with the service request is greater than a frequency threshold; when the request frequency of the service request is greater than the frequency threshold, it indicates that the second service layer of the service type corresponding to the service request reaches the upper limit of capacity. In this case, the service request is sent to a first service layer so as to acquire corresponding service data.

Abstract: Devices, systems and process for facilitating a Deepfake content watch party (DFWP) are disclosed. A system includes server, Deepfake presenter user device (DFPUD), Deepfake user device (DFUD), and content provider. The DFPUD instructs a content capture device (CCD) to capture a Deepfake Reaction (DFR) by a DFPUD user; receives the DFR from the CCD; and communicates the DFR to the server. The content provider provides Deepfake Content (DFC) segments, which include a Deepfake Target (DFT), and Deepfake Augmented Content (DFAC), which identifies a Deepfake model for the DFT. The server, based on the DFR, generates a Deepfake Subject (DFS), identifying a DFPUD user characteristic, generates Deepfake secondary content (DFSC), and communicates DFSC to the DFUD. The DFUD integrates the DFSC with the DFC to facilitate presentation of DFRs in a DFWP.

The method includes retrieving a first media guidance data segment of a plurality of media guidance data segments. Each segment of the plurality of media guidance data segments includes a plurality of media asset identifiers and is navigationally linked to at least one other media guidance data segment. The method further involves generating for display the media asset identifiers of the first media guidance data segment. While generating for display the media asset identifiers of the first media guidance data segment, a first user input corresponding to navigating to the media asset identifiers of a linked media guidance data segment is received. In response to receiving the first user input, the linked media guidance data segment is retrieved, and the media asset identifiers of the linked media guidance data segment are generated for display.
