Abstract: A disposable diaper capable of being put on from either the front or the back of a wearer. The ratio of the minimum width W1 of the crotch section to the whole width W2 of the longitudinal end section having the fastening tapes is from 0.30 to 0.75. The minimum width W1 is in the area extending from the centerline across the diaper that divides the diaper length in two equal halves toward both the longitudinal end sections thereof by ±10% of the total length of the diaper. The area ratio S1/S2 is from 0.45 to 0.60, where S1 is the area of each region surrounded by an imaginary straight line L1, an imaginary straight line L2, and each arched side edge of the crotch section, and S2 is the area of each region surrounded by the line L1, the line L2, and an imaginary straight line L3.

Abstract: A circuit for extracorporeal blood circulation, which is used for a single-needle dialysis, comprises a blood withdrawal line (2) having an arterial pump portion (23), and a blood return line (4) having a venous pump portion (43). Pump portions are designed to be coupled with corresponding peristaltic pumps (6), (7). An arterial expansion chamber (25) is arranged on the withdrawal line downstream from said arterial pump portion. A venous expansion chamber (45) is arranged on the return line upstream from said venous pump portion. The two expansion chambers are firmly joined one to the other into an integrated structure (9), which is equipped inside with two ducts connecting the arterial expansion chamber with two fluid connections attached outside to the integrated structure. The circuit can be assembled and disassembled from a dialysis machine easily and rapidly.

Abstract: A package for a disposable ostomy receiving bag, the package including a first compartment capable of accommodating a fresh ostomy receiving bag and a second compartment capable of accommodating a used ostomy receiving bag. The second compartment is sealable so as to confine the receiving bag which facilitates the handling of fresh and used bags and renders the user more independent of the availability of a lavatory.

Abstract: An absorbent garment includes a front body panel having a terminal waist edge and a terminal crotch edge and a rear body panel having a terminal waist edge and a terminal crotch edge. The terminal crotch edge of the rear body panel is longitudinally spaced from and forms a gap with the terminal crotch edge of the front body panel. An absorbent insert includes first and second longitudinally spaced end portions and opposite laterally spaced side edges. The absorbent insert bridges the gap between the front and rear body panels with the first and second end portions overlying and connected to the front and rear body panels respectively. At least one of the first and second end portions of the absorbent insert is connected respectively to a corresponding one of the front and rear body panels with at least first and second adhesive regions having first and second adhesive basis weights respectively.

Abstract: An eyewash system is disclosed. The eyewash system includes a mounting apparatus and a container coupled to the mounting apparatus and having a removable portion. Movement of the container relative to the mounting apparatus separates the removable portion from the container to provide an opening in the container. The removable portion may be provided on a cap coupled to the container. The container may be coupled to the mounting apparatus by a retaining device (such as a pin) inserted through one or more members extending from the base and through a tab extending from the removable portion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a sanitary tampon including: an applicator composed of an outer tube having a front nose and a rear opening and a pusher inserted into the outer tube through the rear opening; and a tampon body contained in the outer tube and allowed to come out of the front nose when pushed by the pusher. The outer tube is provided with marks which serve as a measure of insertion distance of the outer tube into the vaginal cavity of a user. The marks are spaced away from the front nose of the outer tube.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article includes a backsheet which is composed of inner and outer sheets and a light transmission in a region of the backsheet in which the inner and outer sheets are placed upon each other is in a range of 20 to 50%. First and second elastic members constituting leg elastic members are colored in substantially the same white or milky white as that of the inner and outer sheets and respective intermediate segments of these elastic members are sandwiched between a liquid-absorbent layer and the inner sheet. The inner and outer sheets conceal the respective intermediate segments of these elastic members so that the respective intermediate segments of the elastic members are not highly visible and the article is protected from any deterioration of its appearance.

Abstract: An article includes an auxiliary elastic member extending in a waist-circumferential direction and arranged between a waist-surrounding elastic member extending in front and rear waist regions and leg-holes of a base sheet assembly in a stretched state. The base sheet assembly includes a first sheet and a second sheet. The auxiliary elastic member includes first elastic elements and second elastic elements. In the article, the first and second elastic elements respectively have longitudinally opposite end portions, middle portions and the remaining portions. The end portions of the first and second elastic elements are secured to the first and second sheet, the middle portions of the first elastic elements are secured to the second sheet and the remaining portions of the first and second elastic elements as well as the middle portions of the second elastic elements are let free from the first and second sheets.

The elastic waist portion is made from an elastic first piece which is essentially rectangular and is intended to form the rear portion and side portions of the pants-like product. A second piece forms the front portion and crotch portion of the pants-like product. The second piece is elongate, and the width thereof is, at least in the crotch portion, smaller than the length of the first piece. The second piece is arranged with its longitudinal direction at right angles in relation to the longitudinal direction of the first piece and is connected by a first end portion to one longitudinal edge portion of the first piece.

Abstract: A portable, extremity-attachable device for dispensing skin treatment comprises a deformable housing having a skin treatment reservoir that is caused to dispense such treatment upon squeeze actuation. A set of valves permit proper operation of the device with different modes of use. Embodiments include a simple deformable, wrist-mounted device and a pumped based device with a rigid housing.

Abstract: An absorbent garment includes a body panel comprising a liquid permeable, non-woven material. The non-woven material is elastically gathered and is elongatable between a non-elongated condition and an elongated condition in response to an application of a tensile force. Preferably, the body panel is elongatable at least 75% between the non-elongated condition and the elongated condition upon the application of the tensile force. A fastener includes an adhesive that releasably engages the elastically gathered non-woven material. The fastener is releasably disengageable from the body panel in response to an application of a disengaging shear force. Preferably, the disengaging shear force is greater than the tensile force. Methods for manufacturing and using the absorbent garment are also provided.

Abstract: A kit for cleaning pierced body parts includes a floss formed to be flexible and including a plurality of perforations spaced along a length thereof for assisting a user to separate the floss at the perforations. The kit further includes an applicator formed to be substantially tubular and having open, opposed end portions for passing the floss therethrough. The kit further includes a sterilizing substance coated on the inner surface of the applicator and transferable onto the floss as same passes through the applicator so that a pierced body part may be cleaned as the floss is passed therethrough. The sterilizing substance preferably includes peroxide, antibiotic ointment and/or alcohol. A dispenser for housing the floss and having an aperture formed therein, allows the floss to be selectively removed therefrom.

Abstract: The present invention relates to absorbent articles having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core between the topsheet and the backsheet. The backsheet comprises a moisture vapor permeable, substantially liquid impermeable composite sheet material includes a powder-bonded nonwoven web adhered to a moisture vapor permeable thermoplastic film. The nonwoven web includes a first layer comprised primarily of fibers that are compatible with an adhesive used to bond the web, and a second layer comprised of a blend of fibers, some of which are compatible with, and some of which are incompatible with the bonding adhesive and the thermoplastic film. A method for making the composite sheet material and an item of apparel made from the sheet material are also provided.
