  • Patent number: 6619702
Abstract: An extension portion extending outwardly is integrally formed on the edge of an end portion of an exhaust pipe; a collar is fixed on the outer periphery of the end portion of the exhaust pipe by caulking; and the edge of the outer end of the collar is abutted against the extension portion. The aforementioned arrangement provides a connection portion of an exhaust pipe for an engine which is intended to rigidly connect the exhaust pipe to an exhaust port of the engine, to prevent gas leakage by eliminating the occurrence of clearance at the connecting portion, to reduce the flow resistance of exhaust gas in the exhaust pipe, and to reduce the production cost of the connection portion.

  • Patent number: 6619696
Abstract: A thread for expandable downhole tubular connections is disclosed. It features a locking pattern on the pin and box, which engages upon expansion of the connection. The locking pattern compensates for longitudinal shrinkage away from a torque shoulder, as a result of expansion. A resilient seal can be incorporated into the design with pin to box clearance disappearing around the seal as a result of expansion. Resilient seals can be used in tandem to trap atmospheric pressure between them. The wellbore hydrostatic pressure helps engage the locking feature by pushing the box into the pin, helped by the trapped low pressure between the seals.

  • Patent number: 6591904
Abstract: Equipment (1) for stowing and handling drill pipes (2), the equipment being provided with a device for transporting the drill pipes (2) from a service well (9) to a rack container (11); the transport device being defined by a central control tower (23) located in front of the container (11) and being able to rotate around an axis of vertical rotation (A) and by a grip device (24) supported by the central tower (23) and movable together with, and in relationship to, the central tower itself from a working grip position at the well (9) to a working release position at the bin (12) of the container (11).

  • Patent number: 6550820
Abstract: A connection arrangement is provided for a mineral-insulated conduit with two ends to at least one tube-shaped structure, wherein at least one end is arranged partially overlapping with a tube-shaped structure and is affixed by welding or soldering, and wherein a sheath surface is arranged in the region of the overlap. The problem results of making available a connection arrangement for a mineral-insulated conduit to a tube-shaped structure, which is simple to produce and mechanically stable. The problem is solved in that the sheath surface has a structured surface, the end of the mineral-insulated conduit and the tube-shaped structure contact each other on all sides in the region of the overlap, and the contact surface is smaller than the sheath surface beyond the contact surface.

  • Patent number: 6550818
Abstract: An adjustable bent sub assembly is provided comprising a tubular adaptor for connection with the stator of a downhole motor, a tubular adjusting ring for altering the angular offset of the assembly, and a tubular offset sub for connection with the bearing and bit assemblies. A tubular mandrel is positioned internal of this stack of components. The mandrel is threadably connected at its upper end with the adaptor and at its lower end with the offset sub. The mandrel and ring have a spline connection. The ring and offset sub have disengagable dog clutch means connection them. The mandrel is transversely bent at a point along its length as is the offset sub. The ring has an angled or canted bottom end face. The combination of bending the internal mandrel, bending the offset sub and canting the end face of the ring results in the effective or resultant bend point of the assembly being closer to its lower end.

  • Patent number: 6540261
Abstract: A fire sprinkler piping system fitting including a polymeric body having at least a first tubular branch, a second tubular branch, and a third tubular branch. Each of the first, second and third tubular branches extend outwardly from a common junction. The first and second tubular branches are collinear and the third tubular branch is generally perpendicular to the first and second tubular branches. Each of the first, second and third tubular branches have a distal end opposite from the common junction. The fitting includes pair of internally threaded metal inserts. Each insert is at least partially molded into the distal end of a separate one of a first and second tubular branches. Each of the internally threaded inserts has a distal outer surface facing generally away from the common junction. The distal outer surfaces of the pair of internal threaded metal inserts is spaced apart a distance of between three inches and four inches.

  • Patent number: 6517117
Abstract: A watertight, through wall connector has a tubular body, an O-ring and a holder. A neck is formed on one end of the body has to be bent to hold the holder. With such a connector, the neck is not easily cracked during the pressing process, and the deformation of the body will not occur. This can provide a watertight seal. In addition, the O-ring can fully expand by means of being squeezed between the inside wall of the reservoir and the holder. This can provide a watertight seal due to the full expansion of the O-ring.

  • Patent number: 6508274
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a dust plug for insertion into a fluid conduit system. The dust plug is comprised of an insertion end, removal means, and a hollow central body located between the insertion end and the removal means. The insertion end of the plug is formed as a solid flat end so that when the plug is inserted into the fluid conduit system, the hollow interior of the plug does not communicate with the interior of the system. Additionally, the removal means is preferably formed as a continuous lip about the end of the hollow central body.
